Missing Characters After Saving – Bug or RIP?

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, my friends and I enjoyed almost 4 hours of gameplay together. However, today we ran into a serious issue. One of my friends tried to resume his game, but his character had completely disappeared from his profile. He initially wasn’t too worried, thinking he might have forgotten to save (which is odd given the length of our session) and he wants to start again with another class.

I then tried to access my own game and went to the Save Profiles section. After saving my character and clicking the home icon, I discovered that my character was also entirely removed from the game. Now, I’m left with no characters at all.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is this a known bug, and is there any way to recover our lost characters? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

As long as you did not close the game, it is easy.

As soon as you closed the game, pray that you can make use of the backup saves.

Without closing the game or anything, I can see profiles called “profile 0” and “profile 0 (cloud)”, but right now I don’t have any characters to use. I figure that whether I closed the game or left it open, it would be the same. My character has disappeared…

It is not the same, as when you close the game, that starts syncrhonising the cloud savegame.

With that already past, you can only rely on the backup savegames.

I understand what do you want to say, but in the hypothetical case that I hadn't closed the game, I'm still in the same situation with an empty character list. If there was no way to recover my character while the game was open, closing it wouldn't have made any difference. I have two save profiles from yesterday, but neither has any characters. This is a terrible bug that made us lose our progress :(

Well, next time when someone comes around who has the same problem, they can share their savegames as soon as possible. Then ideally I can demonstrate it to you how to restore it.

my friend is having the same issue. we played multiplayer yesterday and upgraded our characters up to level 4. When trying to play again today, my character was there, but his wasn't. We just played for over an hour, and the new character he saved is not available on the profile when trying to play again. Awful bug.
