You can already use the map to find them easily.

I do that every level before proceeding - a quick check at all spots where a secret room can appear. Hardly takes ten seconds. That and more tips alike you can find here

if it is so easy to find them, then i don't see why i can't pay 1000 gold and 10 wood to see all hidden rooms with the architect :3
have the devs talked about mod support?
Yes. It is about to be prepared. Can be expected very soon. The basis has been already released to make it happen, aka savegames profiles.
I guess it's off by default, and many people never look at the game options. Going into the game options is always the first thing I do, and I made sure the mini map was on and that the keybinds were how I wanted them. But that is me, and many don't do that.
Once I they turned on their mini maps, they were finding them just as often as I was.
However, I do agree, it could/should be an architect option.
Another issue is hidden rooms having ♥♥♥♥ like resources or gear. For the love of all that is unholy please stop this. Trinkets. We need more trinkets. Better yet, how about an architect build that allows us to give up resource chests and gear chests in favor of trinkets?
i see two options for making hidden rooms less annoying.
1, as i said above, have an option in the architect that shows the hidden rooms "explored" on the map
2, remove trinkets from the hidden room, this way its fine to just ignore them and if you accidentally find them, then you get a little "bonus" of resources or gear.
my biggest problem with them now is that i spend extra time on all maps (except forest) to look for the hidden rooms as trinkets are very important for making the runs easier or even possible.
so i feel forced to "waste" time doing something that is not fun.
it takes me out of the flow.
as it is now, instead of running to the next floor i spend time finding or making sure i did not miss a room and a potential trinket.
i don't think we should have to wait for mods for this to be fixed, it should be part of the base game
