anyone know how to edit your characters name?

in game or via game files editing, i dont mind. I just wanna change it cuz I have this fancy ê but in game it just removed it so my name is just missing an e.

I mean, sure, the default name is your Steam profile name. But that's editable!

I think what OP is asking for is an option to re-edit the name.
I'd wager something like an NPC for changing names/looks of characters will be added, eventually.

here's an idea, though:
If you just created the character and didn't spend (too much) time on it, just make a new one and edit the name the way you want then.

yeah i had leveled enough to not want to reset my character, oh well. i'll just wait for the rename npc. I am not the only one with this complaint so

True. Also, there was such an NPC in HoH1, so I can't really see HoH2 not doing it, eventually.

Besides, people also want to do some gear coloring and such, so I'm pretty confident some kind of vanity system will come along with it. HoH1 had unlockable colors, for example. Can't think of any reason that we won't get it in this game as well, unless there's no time and//or resources to implement them (yet).
