thanks for the tip. any advice on what dagger is best? got told to play with dirk and a tomb as weapon when playing warlock
I play the Chaos Warlock and I always take the 'Life Siphon' skill upgrade (%life gained when gaining essence, i.e. when hitting an enemy in melee). I prefer to go tanky, so I use a shield. As a weapon, basically anything you like is fine. I like parry chance, so I use a Dagger of Deflection and also have parry chance on my shield. If you have a good sword or axe they are also fine.
My playstyle is to mostly spam the default attack (to gain essence stacks, constantly healing you) and throw in the Chaos blade spell for AoE clear. Stats are roughly 50 dex, 80 int, 30 focus, 35 vitality. If you want to go more spell based, put more in int rather than dex. If you want more tank, get more vitality - it scales with the essence stacks.
The standard is upping up the ritual with spellpower then luring the enemies into it, while leeching their life when holding the line. That alongside the whip which stuns.
The rest depends on the class promotion. I like the vortex since it gives evasion, making it easier to lure enemies in and stand your ground within the fire ritual, dealing 800 damage and more.
I haven't tried the Summoner Warlock build, but Chaos is insanely strong - but it needs some time to get going. You need the Mana Drain skill, and both of the Chaos Rift passives to get multiple to spawn with a few casts. Tail stun dangerous enemies, side stop a bit, Chaos Blade, and then move around as you cast to get a good "grid" of Rifts going. Doing it in doorways or around corners to funnel enemies through the grid kills everything very fast.
Soul build is more straight forward. Move up, activate the skill, stab stab. You want as many of the life drain passives to keep yourself alive.
Note that the Warlock is primarily a CASTER class. The weapon you use should attack FAST to stack Essence, but mainly you want Spell Power on all your equipment. You can get some Str to use a Shield, which helps a ton. Otherwise Int and Life.
Any melee is fine. I use mace/sword.
Thanks for the tips. Havent really used the tail. Felt weak. But i havent tried the chaos promotion. Maybe ill give that a go. hoiw would you spend your skill stars? have 52. i got told in my last match i should spend alot on the 2 passive(aura and drain)
may i ask how you have spent you "skill stars". i have 52 after i respect. got told in my last match i should spend alot on the 2 passive(aura and drain) to start with
Yes, I maxed aura and drain first. Then chaos rifts and chaos blade, although which spell you max first is a matter of taste and playstyle. Before I unlocked the sub-classes, I liked the fire versions of the whip and ritual.
So I'd say: drain > aura > rifts > spell of your choice.
I took some of the options to spawn extra chaos rifts when offered. Positioning is key here: you want to spawn rifts around a boss or tanky elite for maximum effect. Cast spell, move to other side of boss, cast spell again, profit.
