Red Crystals

These crystals are just too rare. We need a source to farm them besides praying to see an epic trinket in a run. Or just add a crystal salesmen in town to buy both kinds.

You do not need an epic trinket to get it. Rare trinket suffices.

Weird - we must play very differently because I have so many red crystals that I wish I could trade them in for money or stone or something. Maybe this means it's actually perfectly balanced.

Probably. I am more surprised you have so many of them. I constantly run out of them.

if you're short and need some right now,

Do the dark citadel shortcut in forest on ng0. Clear it with 4 candles, abandon run after looting.

if you need more, just do full runs.

This changes as you get further into the game and start enchanting your gear. It becomes more and more expensive the higher your item level is and you'll soon reach a point where you'll have to do multiple runs just to change a single stat.
