Cheating?

Played with a Sorc using Flame Wall dealing 4k non-crits. I asked how much spellpower they had and they said 650. I went onto my Sorc with 800 spell power and 400% crit dmg and 190% Flame dmg and 25% fire pen. My Flame Walls non crits are 400-700 and crits are 2k-6k depending on the monsters def type. Am I missing a secret tech to do that kind of dmg or were they cheating?

It's a community known thing that a lot of players cheat. You will often find them in high NG+ runs with 15+ max lobbies if youre looking.

So then yeah they were cheating. I just wasn't sure if there was another layer of dmg stacking that I am missing out on.

Its really hard to know without looking at something more specifically,

Do you use the gulch burner and sudden death drinks?
Do you have spell damage on your gear?
Did you have the elemental affinity upgrade dubbling the damage bonus for elements that havent been used recently?
Did the target have vulnerability?
Was there an assasins mask bonus?
Headhunters contract bonus?
Crest of triumph bonus?
Hallowed bone bonus?
Blessed bread bonus?

There are even more things like the ranger mark and skill upgrade but the point is that there are a lot of damage increasing effects that arent spell damage, crit and fire damage on gear. There are people cheating but there are also a lot of people going around saying people are cheating because the person making the accusation doesnt have enough game knowledge to tell the difference.

If they are doing that mid run it’s with the 10% church buff that you won’t get on a target dummy in town

Were you comparing your damage in town on dummy vs someone in a run? Because if so, I mean... Come on dude. You realize how many damage multiplying trinkets there are in game, right?

Gotta love that the second someone does something better than you, you just assume it's cheating though... Yikes.
