New to Hammerwatch series, what to play?
So I just saw HoH 2 released and I liked how it looks, but how are HoH 1 and Hammerwatch 1 and 2, should I play everything or only HoH 1/2?

Hammerwatch 1+2 are Roguelike games, so permadeath and start again. (Hammerwatch 1 is fine to play once, 2 have some bugs and the publisher abandoned it, so devs cant put patches on it, its skippable i would say)

Heroes of Hammerwatch 1+2 are Roguelite games, so you have permanent upgrades (town system).

HoH1 feels like Hammerwatch 1 with a lot more stuff, because it have mostly same enemies/tilesets.
Should you play Heroes of Hammerwatch 1 before 2? not really, but its a really great game too, with more content then new HoH2, because of the 2 Dlc's the first one have.

Thanks, I guess I'll get HoH2 only for now and if I like it, I'll buy HoH1 with DLC-s when on sale.

HoH II is a better version all around than HoH, and this is coming from someone who played HoH quite a bit. Once you play HoH II, no need to ever play HoH, HoH II feels better/has better gameplay and looks a bit better.

Hammerwatch 1+2 are not rougelike games. HW1 and its remake is a Gauntlet-like dungeon crawler, with saves and all that. HW2 is a Sacred-style top-down ARPG where you can resurrect many times if you die or load a save.

Bubble Bobble :D
HoH2 is the way to go. As already mentioned if you play HoH2 you won't need to play HoH.
I've played Hammerwatch 2 and i liked it but yes no more updates for the game.
