But i think they should change the description so it does not lie.
It appears that all shadow curse reduction works this way. For instance, if I equip my character with 3 'of Zeal' items, my NG+1 shadow curse gain is 43%, which is close to 0.6*(0.9)^3. If I turn the game to NG+2, it becomes 68%, which is 43+25, and is not 1.25*0.6*(0.9)^3 = 54%.
So, on NG+2 and above, 25 is added to the percentage after all shadow curse reduction has taken place. This is why sanctified water behaves like it does. It takes the base percentage down to 0, but then 25 is added.
