Wasting less time getting up the new game plus ladder:
Quality of Life:
-Settings: Turn on minimap and quick attacks
-Controls: if you're on a controller change keybinds so you can dash backwards or so that you can aim the shield while reviving teammates or drinking a potion.
-Before leaving an indoor area, bring up the actual map and pan around for arrows in the walls (secret rooms).
-Start all actual runs with gentle traps.
-Light pedestals on shortcut to farm enchant upgrade resource.

To Start With:
Get all the characters to new game plus 1 (level 20) for some bonus base stats and to get a feel for them.

Turn off the combo bonus in town. It will still exist as the kill bonus and provide extra movement speed but it won't waste orb upgrades.

Priority One:
Get the wizard who provides passive spell damage per level to all characters to as high of a level as possible, new game plus 8 if you can. The wizard is an easy class to level that will help get every other class up the new game plus ladder faster.

Start with the Evocation wizard, drop fireball skill and max everything else out. Only attack with spells. (Infinite Ice shield upgrades, and an actual low level off hand shield for survivability.) With enough mana regen gear and character stats you can swap to the Transmutation wizard later on to really go nuts with the magic missile. Upgrade trinkets not weapon damage. Start runs with spell cost reduction, spell cooldown and spell crit.

Sorcerer can be leveled at any time after Wizard for more mana regen. Go with Fire mastery for the health on crit upgrade. Keep the orb spell for farming crits but drop Elemental Affinity. Start runs with either fire or ice discharge upgrades to take them out of the upgrade pool.

Priority Two:
Get the ranger who provides weapon damage per level as high leveled as you can. This is your only chance of getting the other weapon focused characters up the new game plus ladder in a realistic timeframe. (This also provides high level dex gear for the strength based classes since strength doesn't scale well, so store it all in the chest.)

Go with warden and drop trap skill. Dual daggers or sword and board. Focus dex stat, physical damage and max health enchantments. Start runs with healing vines upgrade, buffs to shadow curse reduction and weapon crit.

Priority Three:
Levelling all the other classes, hopefully much faster with the previous passive damage boost prioritisation.

I like the Chaos Warlock, the Blades Rogue, the Berserker Warrior and the Justice Paladin myself. Putting some levels into Warlock (elemental resistance) in particular can really help with surviivability as enemy spells hit the hardest.

i appreciate the effort. However:

Annoyingly, the arrows as you call them are only visible on the big map and on the minimap if your character is standing close enough to them. So bringing up the map looking for the arrows doesn't help.

wait, what? The "kill 10 enemies" combo bonus still exists if I turn it off in town? That would mean you can't actually turn it off.

The combo makes this game fast and fun, I wouldn't turn it off.

if you open your menu and go there to the map and scroll around, you will be able to see the cracks.
but yeah, big map acts like minimap and only shows the cracks when you are close to them :)

ah, ok. I'm playing with controller, and never thought to use the mouse arrow to find the cracks. I never saw them on the big map and shall try this in my next run.

There are other weapon based classes? Say what?

i play also with controller but in the map menu can get scrolled through with the sticks also :) while moving the map, you can see the cracks (but i think this could be a bug since they are only visible while moving and if you stop they disappear xD)

i would value sorcerer over ranger so that you have the manaregen needed to not have to rely on weapons attacks in the first place.

If you hit the zoom in key before you scroll around it will still show them even if you are standing far away.

Also, it seems like you can only see them within a certain area of the map. Kinda like the red circles (enemies).
Where can we find out what each class gives all other characters as a bonus once they've beaten the campaign once?

Press D-Pad down button, or default G if you're on keyboard.
