Black Screen

Hi when I start up the game I get the Swords of Ditto loading screen, then the one bit loading screen, then a black screen. When i move my mouse i can hear somthing like an options screen but all is black...and cold. I've followed all suggestions on the website ensuring my computer is up to date etc. Can anyone help me? :)

fwiw, disabling the steam overlay has not fixed black screen for me

Make it run in window mode

right click on the game properties on your steam
go to "Launch settings"
type -windowed

Try these things hopefully one would work.

To be specific, I hit return twice which appeared to get through the language setup. I disabled the steam overlay. Now I get a black window, with the intro music playing. There are three chimes when I move the mouse around. This is on Windows 10

Yeah, I don't think it's the language select, rather something to do with GameMaker's rendering.

I tried with my controller to get in fullscreen (my game start on windowed, but the window don't suit to the screen) a friend got the game and tell me go down one time, press (A) then go down 2 times and press (A) then (A) again, my game pass in fullscreen then crash, i got a crash too when i try to put in fullscreen with my mouse.

I play on a laptop 15.6", GPU drivers are updated

I had it confirmed that someone who had this issue got it working by setting his PC to use the correct GPU. I'm not saying this will work for everyone, but if you do have two GPUs (i.e. integrated and normal) then please try this fix.

Tried with correct GPU, tried disabling audio card, hitting return a bunch of times when the game started, and disabling Steam Overlay - nothing has worked for me unfortunately. Still get a black screen after logos. :-(

@Onebitbeyond I tried that in my Nvidia control panal but no luck for me sadly :(

It's working for me !
Search nvidia on you windows search bar, then 3D params , select sword of ditto and select Use nvidia GPU
