Other races and character models

Not a major issue, but i know you can get other races, but as it stands ive gotten only the same three character models over a multitude of runs. Do you have to unlock others by subsequent runs?

I would really like to know this. I've restarted like 30 times now and I've gotten human every single time with one exception where I got the robot. I could legitimately have played this game to completion and beyond and never seen anything but human characters. Randomness is okay but this is absolutely absurd. I'll play anything but a human but the odds seem crazily in favor of the most plain, boring character possible.

I've frequently get girls and rabbits, I've had a couple of birds, one cat and one mouse. No robots yet!

At least one boy and two girls (one of whom apparently fancies herself a luchadora), a mouse and one I believe to be a wolf.

I died and got double rabbits this time. I guess if you 'reroll' by backing to the title screen and pressing play again right after starting a new character, it might enforce the same 'race' each time? I wonder if robot is just a really rare, unique character it can give you.

It would be nice to make some of this public knowledge. I see cute animal characters, I play game. And I was pretty disappointed when the first few hours don't show any signs of them. It certainly improves the experience to have some level of choice over what I get, even if there's still randomness at play. Would at least like to know how these characters become available, because so far it seems random but I honestly can't believe that given my experience.
