Let's talk well, let's talk cyubeVR
Hi, I bought the game when the multilanguage was available, no problem for the VR operation it works correctly, but I got bored very quickly. I followed the Discord a bit and then I stopped everything due to lack of will, I see no point in building for building's sake. I would be happy to see enemies, a scenario, and multiplayer. Then I saw the launch date on Steam 2018... So I see daily that the dev has improved the color of an object, the shape of another, and in the meantime the game seems to sell well, but who plays it regularly? and why play it? Most of the positive recommendations are people who have played less than 10 hours... So here we are not on the Dev Discord, but on Steam Discussion, and I say things as I think, and I hope I'm wrong, but I feel wrong There you go!
I want to believe in the good will of the dev, but he does not make my task easy
P-S: No hard feelings

Thank you for joining my loneliness, and yes you're right, let's not complain, some have had to wait for 6 years.
So do you yourself find the will to play CyubeVR to build for example a statue of liberty of several hundred meters?
Honestly, when I think of CyubeVR, I wonder if the difficulty in bringing us a multiplayer or enemies would not come from Minecraft and a fear of legal action from Mojang or Microsoft, as for Paradox Of Hope which was cancelled at the request of the studios behind Metro Awakening. I don't want it of course and moreover Minecraft stops the VR port in 2025, so I keep a little hope, but I also look beyond appearances and what we are allowed to see...

Hi. I play the game for more than 800h. I love to build stuff and just enjoy the Environment. There are others out there just like me. On PSVR2 many people just build. Enemies are still planned. And if you really need something to fight, you could get the enemy mod from the workshop. There will never be Zombies in the game. And that's good. There are many Zombie VR games out there already :D
If you don't enjoy building for building's sake and you are not into peaceful walking around, maybe cyubeVR right now is just not for you. That's okay. For me the game is a relaxing building game to counter out my stressful everyday life :D

Thank you for your participation, I appreciate seeing a different opinion. I will not criticize your ideas and fully respect them. Which leads me to wonder why I made a mistake in getting CyubeVR, even though the roadmap clearly states

Evil creatures that attack the player (Optional)

Hi! Have you played through all the objectives in the game already? Generally, cyubeVR is a game that you should be able to enjoy for 10-25 hours even if you don't like any building at all, because there are the objectives that guide you through the whole progression of the game and let you try out all the cool unique VR mechanics in the game. So those 10-25 hours should be fun, they also don't require you to do any building.

But after you finished the objectives, the game becomes a pure "building for buildings sake" sandbox game, that's correct. And if you don't enjoy that, then you should just consider cyubeVR a game with that limited 10-25 hours of playtime (which I would say isn't too unusual for singleplayer campaigns in indie games).

There are additional features (enemies, melee combat, multiplayer) planned that will eventually significantly expand the target audience of the game, but I don't claim that anything is coming "soon". On the roadmap, these features are in the "Planned as soon as possible" category, and that really means exactly that I plan to add them as soon as it makes sense - but for quite a while, there always were more important features that made more sense to be added first.

As everyone following the regular patch notes can probably tell, I am very perfectionist, so I find it important that existing features/mechanics in the game work as perfectly as possible before I add additional features, so I always spend a lot of time with further polishing existing features, and sometimes that takes quite a while until a feature is really so polished that every player agrees it's perfect now.

And I'm just one guy, so I can only work on one thing at a time. Getting a quite complex unique game like cyubeVR to the level of polish it has now really takes quite a while when you're working on it alone without a big team. So yes, things can take a while. To me it doesn't actually feel like much time, to me it feels like yesterday that cyubeVR came out on Steam, even if it's already almost 7 years ago ;) But the good thing is, if you compare the game 7 years ago to the game now, I think everyone can tell it's basically a completely different game already with all the updates that happened in the meantime, and that's great :)

Hi.
I didn't wanted to say that you were wrong. I just wanted to say, that the game as it is right now is not for you.
If you buy an early access game, you buy the game for what it is at the Moment, not for what it will be in the future. If you buy a Madden or FiFa game than you get the rooster for the current season. And you buy it for the current season rooster and not for the rooster in 2 or 3 years, right?
I never look at any roadmaps for ea games, because they rarely are met. I brought cyubeVR in 2018 because the peaceful building looked like fun. I also got a lot of ea games in the following years. Many got abandoned. But I never regreted it because i got what i saw and I liked it.

So nothing really changed in the last 12 month except the price?
Lets talk CyubeVr, great idea :)

I think i bought the game before the multilanguage update (no idea, kinda forgot when i bought this game). Played it a bit, but just like you i got bored and for years i haven't touched the game. Till now, for a small week now, i am playing it again and i have to say... i actually like it. Normally i tend to play more serious/realistic games, but i find it hard to enjoy those types of games. It's too stressful 😂🤷‍♀️ I guess i'm getting older, nowadays i appreciate the relaxing games more. Anyway...

I think i am becoming a fan of CyubeVR. Attempting to build a house and why not, lets try to make it some kind of dream house. A house i shall never own, because money is no object here. All you need is some time to find the materials, explore the surroundings, chop some wood, mine stones and just start building it.

It is nice to have that seated mode now. For me it does make a difference, to be able to sit and still be the 'correct' height in that world is a nice luxury to have and i think because of that feature, that it's a big reason for me to keep playing and to 'learn' the game and familiarise myself more with it.

Anyway, lets talk about the game.. I figured, i'm just gonna mention some random ideas and hope that the dev/owner (and soul creator?) of this game will read the messages and hopefully gets inspired with a new idea to implement one day. 😉

I think my biggest issue with the game is 2 fold.
1) There is no lore, no story of 'where' you are and what the world might be. Perhaps this is something for a later stage, because when you have a story, you can create adventures, missions to do. Giving the player a sense of direction. I think thats why i stopped playing the game the first time, because i didn't know what i was supposed to do and just building something didn't appeal to me. (Now this doesn't apply to me, for some weird reason this is exactly why this game appeals to me today. It's just relaxing and i'm just exploring, trying to find crystals and materials to build my house) I think the dev is also adding multiplayer in the future, it might be a good idea to think about co-op related adventures....

Or maybe not... don't do the lore, if it's only 1 person making this game. Then the dev needs all his time dedicated to create the game, optimising, bug fixes, building new features and to be fair. Now i don't 'miss' that there is no story/background/history in this world. It's my world now. Just me and my underdeveloped architect skills and mainly me being not so clever about how to build a 'good' house-like structure. 😂
(hm... okay, my first point is a non issue, having no lore/backstory is probably better for this game)

2) For a full product (when the game is out of early access) there are not enough options, there is simply not enough depth yet. (don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying the game) But for example, you can build this furnace and as far i know, you can only use it for 2 items. To make an Iron ingot and to make glass. I think the furnace (or perhaps other tools, like a workbench or whatever) can be interesting and an important asset to the game. Since the core of the game is building, lets add some complexity to it. For example, more materials and more refined materials that you can make by using the furnace. And those new refined materials could be a part of a recipe, a 'special' ingredient that is needed in order to craft those items.

Ps. I also saw the roadmap. Why is updating the engine to unreal 5 a high priority update? Is it a better engine? Is the current engine really that outdated compared to 5? Better performance and things like that? Will it benefit the game, or perhaps benefit the dev with shorter development times? I'm just worried about the consequences, that it might make the game harder to run and create weird unforeseen bugs and things like that. (Some time ago, i saw this short documentary about game engines and the newer engines were not always better, often making things more difficult for the devs, just something i picked up from that documentary. But i'm no dev, Got no idea what i'm talking about. 😜)
gabgab01 Apr 23 @ 5:49pm
just checked into the discussions myself and stuff. i don't own the game, but i do plan on getting it as soon as multiplayer releases, otherwise i will just get burnt out REALLY quickly and find no motivation to play it at all.
i have the same issues in minecraft, so it's not a game design issue.

that being said, i've been waiting for 7 years for multiplayer to be added. it's still being worked on afaik, i have found NO news / messages that the dev has given up on adding multiplayer, but like, how much longer?

so i feel your pain when you say "where da multiplayer at?"
