Any new feature that is added is basically progress towards multiplayer, yes, since there are various features that still need to be added before multiplayer makes sense. One of the biggest ones was for example releasing the game on PSVR2 - because with multiplayer in a game that's PCVR-only it would be very hard to keep servers populated enough for proper multiplayer, and a game with empty servers would not really be a good multiplayer game. So the PSVR2 release for example means multiplayer can directly be cross-play between PCVR and PSVR2, with a much bigger playerbase.
All those things are planned :)
I don't believe in it anymore and it's no fun alone in the long run
i don't need huge servers with thousands of players.
i just want to play the game with like one or two friends, build stuff and explore, so i don't feel so lonely all the time.
