It's not currently possible to disable the dynamic resolution, it should work so that you never really notice it. If it doesn't that's bad and needs to be fixed!
The GPU load in the game can vary a lot, depending on where you look at, so without dynamic resolution you would have to stay on a relatively low resolution constantly if you want to keep 90 fps.
I could add a setting to the INI that allows you to disable the dynamic resolution, but it should always be better to keep it enabled.
Did you try to drag the "resolution slider" fully to the right, and also to enable the "experimental" dynamic res algorithm?
I've got an i7 4790k and a 1070Ti overclocked so that it should be a bit faster than a 1080.
The resolution slider doesn't do anything for me - maybe it's WMR or something else, I don't know, but I've just given it another shot and when I load the world everything looks fine (very fine I must say).
In-game the resolution is as it should - the only problem is the menu where I can't read anything because of the low resolution.
Is the tutorial somewhere readable outside of the game? It's probably important to read that before ;-)
Apart from the menu problem it seems to work nice on WMR!
Regards,
Alexander
Good to hear that in the game itself you don't see any problem!
You can read the tutorial while being in the game, next to the settings there is a "Tutorial" tab. So the tutorial is available in both the main menu and in the game in the briefcase with the "Tutorial" tab.
Or does both the main menu and the briefcase menu in the game appear blurry?
Which WMR headset do you have? I also have a WMR headset now, so the game will soon be marked as officially compatible with WMR :)
Maybe there is some kind of bottleneck that kicks in while using WMR? Did you experience the same with your new headset?
If you get reprojection when using a higher resolution, that would mean the dynamic resolution works as intended, it lowers the resolution enough to not allow reprojection to occur. Disabling dynamic resolution would just mean constant reprojection then.
You should neither see low resolution nor reprojection with a GTX 1070 while using the dynamic resolution though. Do you have anything in the background running thats using your CPU or GPU? How much RAM do you have, and in how many RAM modules?
Also, which WMR headset do you use? I didn't try using WMR + dynamic res yet.
It really seems that there is some kind of bottle neck on my system that makes your app slow (either your program or something regarding my rig).
Other VR apps and games work fine though.
How much RAM do you have, and in how many RAM modules?
I think I do actually see a similar issue in the main menu with WMR, so I will probably just disable the dynamic res completely in the main menu, it's not needed there anyways :)
Could you test the current beta version? It has the main menu fix, and it also has official support for WMR, so it would be quite good to get some feedback on that :)
If you have time for that, just join the official discord: discord.gg/cyubeVR
It will probably already be in the stable branch by friday, hopefully
I will keep an eye on the development, thank you very much for your support.
Thanks! What do you think about the official WMR support? Do the controller models and everything feel perfect?
