Bugs, bugs, and more bugs!

I first played this game on PS5 last year when it was free in PS+.
At the time the game was riddled with bugs 🐜 and was torn a new one by reviewers. It didn’t help that the game coming out bugged 🐛 hit on the heels of the Cyberpunk scandal. I’d hoped at the time that we were turning a page in how critics review games. Most times they ignore the bugs 🐞 in their reviews believing that the devs will patch the game in time for release. Increasingly this is not the case. I believe reviewers should review the code sent, not the promise give by devs/publishers.
Now I’m playing Soullstorm again on Steam. Many of the bugs 🐜 have been patched but a healthy amount still remain. For example, I’ve had shocked sligs blasted through and clipping rock formations, the inability to tie and pickpocket sligs if they are too close to the edge of the screen or too close to structures. And on the third level bombs hitting me while under protective cover. And that’s in just 3 levels, as far as I’ve gotten atm.
What makes this situation even more irritating is that this game has been out on PC as an epic store exclusive for a year now. Oddworld Inhabitants have had plenty of time to fix this game and thanks to Timmy Tencent the money to do so.
So why release such a shoddy game on Steam? Why not take pride in your work and polish the code? It really does feel like a slap in the face to all the fans who have waited patiently for this game to come to Steam and given their hard earned money to Lorn Lanning.

It’s par for the course these days. EA are the kings at launching a game and abandoning it several patches later with the software still broken.

Yeh i agree, but they should have given us at least one proper patch to fix all the bugs.

Game is really a buggy mess. Looking back, even the 3 € i spent were a waste of money, hell yeah, i wouldnt even consider pirating this game anymore after i played through it and found out how bad it is. Lorne Lanning must doing drugs if he really thinks this is the best Oddworld Game, lol, even Munch Oddysee is far above this crap game.

I'm glad that queer designers are involved in creating the game.
My gaming experience. I'm at the highest level where you need to treat workers, I've gathered a lot of them and they're running after me. Ok, the game teaches me that they can run next to me or leave them. Ok, I'm listening to the game. I leave the workers, run further, reach some lever.... Hello new level, without the ability to roll back. At least save the previous ones.
The designer of this mechanic is simply brilliant. A noble gay and a carrier of an extra chromosome.
