"For anyone with the hints.txt error, try the following:

First try uninstalling the game. After doing so, would you check both your steam directory and your documents folder and make sure that anything related to the game has been deleted from both folders. Lastly would you check your user folder for a (possibly hidden) folder. The directory should look something like this:

C:\Users\Arata (or whatever your username on your pc is)\AppData\Roaming\Out of the Park Developments. Once you're in that folder, then delete the entire OOTP Baseball19 folder.

After you do all this then restart your pc and try re-installing the game.

Let me know if that helps."

Thanks for that! Typcially the uninstall/reinstall works for the hints issue but since it didn't for you I'm really glad you found this does. I'll post it here as well for anyone who needs it in case they don't see it in the other thread.

I tried all of these the game did not launch.

If you do the same thing, but this time enter tracemode, try to start the game again. I would assume it will still crash. After it does so, navigate to the following folder: Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 19\debug

Find the trace file there and send me an email with it or else post it here. That should have some data that will help us figure out why the game is crashing.

I installed Thursday night and ran two games just fine (except once when Frank Robinsons hit a home run and the game froze for, maybe, 10 minutes and then played fine). Today, I run it and it looks like it is trying to install something, but no bars are filling-in. Nothing is happening. X'd out and tried again, same result. What happened? It worked fine yesterday!

I tried this and the game now launches, however it warns me that I cannot edit or create files in the data folder now and that I need permission to customize the game. It asks me if I want to copy the data files to my user folder. I tried this once and it just duplicated the above suggestion,but kept giving me the same error.

My game doesnt even pop up. I've reinstalled 4 or 5 times and have tried every single thing in this thread.

It shows "Running" for 2 seconds, and then flashes "syncing" in the steam library but nothing ever pops up.

I have tried this and the game now loads but says it cannot write to the folder. I have checked all permissions and ran as adminstrator. Do not have problems with other games or previous OOTP versions so not sure what is going on. Going to refund unless I can find a solution.

It was my spyware/firewall I use bitdefender and it put the application on the block list without asking so it stopped it making changes to protected folders.

I had the same issue actually, Bitdefender didn't warn me. Thanks for posting this, now the game works for me.

I have a problem with launching the game.
Reinstalled it few times - does not helps

Just two Errors popping out

"OOTP found that the crashed on_startup flag is set. Obviously the game crashed when you started it last time. OOTP will reset the graphics setting to default values. You can set them back later"

And right after the 2nd one
"Could not open target folder to install game data, Please uninstall and reinstall OOTP"

Tried everything, cant launch
