First time playing: this or Outcast 1.1?

I'd like to know if, for someone that never played the original, it would be better to go with 1.1 for the "original experience" (less modified) or if its better to just go for this one, instead.

Also, I own 1.1 but not this one, so starting with this one means I will have to spend extra money (not a big deal since its on sale, but it is something of note).

1.1 is the best version if Outcast, with better experience! This one have sadly terrible intro, and things cut out (like FPS view), but the graphics is beautyful! I recommend first the 1.1, and after that the second contact!

1.1 100%. Second COntact seems like a well-made fan remake, that loses a lot of charm of the original in the attempt of bringing everything up to date.

Ok, just to clarify my previous message, both games are good and worth playing. SC looks fantastic compared to original release. But it's also more buggy and animations are clunky. So do play SC at some point, even if just to compare two for yourself.

Funny, and I wasn't sure if the intro is a new or I forgot it. Because in the original, I always woke up in the first village :)

I played through the original when I was a teenager. I just started this and I'm eager to see if they've messed it up or made a good recreation. Though I'd rather an update of the original 3D video intro than the comic art style.

I think we can most probably all agree the Intro is the weakest part of the Remake and everything else is way better after that. 😎
