Some qualifty of life suggestions
The health bar. It does not give very good feedback for both gaining or losing health.

Expanding the lexicon to include the descriptions of both the weapons and the items. In game there is still no way to find out what any of the items do without trial and error. Which even if you try isn't still always easy to figure out. Like figuring out that the THNDR-STP33 is a tripmine detonator for dynamite as well as the differences between all of the weapon levels.

An option to turn off the expanded explanation in the subtitles of things. I appreciate them being there but it would be a nice quality of life change for anyone who has played the original or does more than one game on this one.

These at least *feel* patchable from an armchair dev point of view but I have no idea about the actual viability.

Totally not a viable change at this point but I MISS THE OLD LOADING SCREEN *cries* Like seriously I had no idea how much I'd miss a loading screen but I loved being able to jump into the daoka and watch the ripples. Now it's just logo and random ball :(

Yes, I find the in-text explanations jarring, it was really charming to learn them as you discover the world.

Agree on the health bar, although there was completely none in the original it would help tp have the now existing one a bit more visible.
Regarding the Daokas I absolutely miss the waterwave effect *sniff*

bump - knowing what items do for new players should be in to begin with.

Also, if there isn't already an option, I'd like to be able to turn off tool tips for things like diving, talking to people, drawing a gun...

Those icons are really large and obtrusive, and distracting because they are animated, and they take away from the immersion some.

Next patch will include the option to turn off the explanation in the subtitles.. as requested by many players here.

I like your suggestion for gadgets explanations.... the Devs will think of a way to include explanation texts in-game.

That is good to hear! I'm really happy about the first patch. I didn't even realize how sluggish it felt until after the patch and it helped exploring Talanzaar as well which was one of my biggest compliants.

The subtitles would make some sense if they only appeared once or twice. But having "(race which populates Adelpha)" behind every mention of "talan" 10 hours into the game is just annoying.

Also I just realized "Totems" was the name of the game the Outcast devs were working on after Outcast.

Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes. I like having the subtitles enabled because I can read a lot faster than the voice actors speak, so it lets me skip when I know the sentence isn't worth listening to. What I *don't* like is having everything explained to me like I'm 5 just because I turned the subtitles on.

And as an addition to turning off explanations: It was a cool feature that you can ask your way around when looking for someone. Having all the names on the map and in the onscreen interaction icon makes this a bit useless though.

So I'd be happy for any options that disable those "helpers". The charme of the original game also stems from its hardcore elements. It was oldschool and we should have the option to get this back. Please. :)
