harvesting question
so i've seen that different tiers of tools allow for different sized working areas and that got me thinking, is there anything like that for harvesting aswelkl or do you need to pluck each and every plant manually from start to endgame?

Up until now I haven't seen a tool for harvesting more than one plant at the same time.

The only option for faster harvest would be letting your spouse or housemate do the work.

hmm ok, so all in all it'll be impossible to harvest everything you're sowing because the time/energy won't even last for a fraction of it, at least from what i've seen in some videos, guess i'll wait a while and see if there's any future changes about that

You can extend your in-game-time:
Menu -> Admin -> Day length (adjust the time to your liking)

For low energy:
Eat cooked meals (cooked by yourself or buy something - sometimes NPC give you food, too). Eating your harvested crops will just increase your energy for a tiny little bit, so eating something cooked is way better. Different recipes restore your energy by a different amount - so try a few different thing.
Also: Look out for energy-booster-meals.
(Library can help)

In case you already know all of this: Sorry - I didn't mean to be rude or presumptuous. I just hope I can help a little bit :)

na, i didn't know any of this since all i did until now was watch 2 videos showcasing it, so don't worry =D
sounds like there's at least some way to counter the issues i was concerned about, maybe i'm giving it a try soon^^

Oh ok - I hope you'll enjoy this game! :)
(Further info: You can change the difficulty-settings in this game so you can choose to play it in a relaxing or challenging way and you can change the difficulty anytime in the game)

I also use the day time extending thing when planting or harvesting.

is there any side effect to the day lenght modifier aside from making the days longer, as in maybe increased energy regeneration for sleeping or something like that?
Sillysally Oct 1, 2020 @ 5:47pm
Im Only a player but when I pass out which i do lots, I end up sleeping so long that the screen will revert to the management screen (probably wrong term) when normally it will wake up a bit faster in doctors office faster (It ?Seems) Still take lots of food if your working hard those days.
Cocytus Oct 1, 2020 @ 6:28pm
hmm ok, so in the end it still condenses into either stay small or become a glutton that eats increasing amounts of your produce to keep it running big?
sounds like some kind of vicious circle to me :steamdeadpan:
i mean in all similar games i've played so far harvesting never consumed any energy so the only thing that kep you from getting bigger was your tools capacity but in here it seems purely based on how much you're willing to consume in the end, or am i wrong about that?

what I've been doing is cooking things that give me energy (Lots of it) say Meat Balls, and someone introduced me to parsley potatoes) I'm sure there are better ones but I'm too lazy to look for them. and just not sell those ones but eat them and a batch of 100 each will carry me for a full year, with lots of crops.
I try to accumulate enough of everything in my seasons crop storage buildings to keep for the following years harvest which will be about 40 more than current season. while also planting enough of the other same season crops to do the same thing, in-case those items are added to the quest for the following year. (if it were real life they would all rot but that's how I can hopefully make my game more relaxing for me) Grind in the beginning and later spend time getting to know the NPC's and their stories. Also cooking the rest of the recipes etc.
Also just FYI I don't leave it at long days all the time, Just when I'm working long and hard.

I don't face difficulties with the food or energy. Except for really early in game (but, to me, that's a pleasent challenge), it's not difficult to have enough food in your inventory in order to restore your energy. Once you know what recipes to cook/eat it's not bothersome. NPCs will give you food as well.
Most of the time I'm happy when the energy goes low so I can use up food/drinks.
Wouldn't it be boring otherwise?

(I haven't played games which are similar to PumpkinDays, so I can't compare.)

With the meteroite Tools Engery is not really a problem. Got them in year one and alwys have food with me when I need to plant. But I have modified the time as well, because I have a farm in every little town... looking after them, fishing and still going in the mines would be too much...
