Visual Scoring?
In the first one I read somewhere about having more visuals let you get more points, and I think I've seen the proof of that. Is that still a thing here because to me it doesn't fair to some people who can't actually handle the visuals.

In Beat Hazard 2 you spawn with a bonus multiplier depending on your visual intensity.

50% = +0
100% = +0
150% = +5
200% = +10
250% = +15
300% = +20

Yes! It has a very small impact on score. A few lucky multiplier drops throughout a run can completely negate the advantage.

BH2's visual intensity goes much higher than the first game. But players who don't like or struggle to tolerate the bright lights will find that 50% and 100% is much more playable and enjoyable now. Starg, the developer, is also open to tweaking these lower settings if users still find it uncomfortable.

That's good to hear. As an elite rank190+ it always bugged me that I was stiffled on score because I didn't have sunglasses or the like for max flash. Good to see it's a much better system now. Also slightly unrelated but not worth starting a new thread, has steam controller support been fixed?

I'm not sure, but there has been a lot of work on controller support recently. You're in the Discord, right? It might be a good idea to ask there. I'm sure someone can answer your question.

I've been working on 'standard' controller support and all seems fine at the moment. I've not had chance to properly test with the Steam controller. It should work ok, but if not it will be something I'll fix during EA.

Well on BH1 I had to go in with keyboard and adjust it, which worked okay, but by default it doesn't work at all not do the truggers/L2 and R2 work.

+5 Bonus for each tier is too much. There is no incentive to take smaller percentages for comfort. I believe such a table would be fairer:

50% = +0
100% = +2
150% = +4
200% = +6
250% = +8
300% = +10
