BH2's visual intensity goes much higher than the first game. But players who don't like or struggle to tolerate the bright lights will find that 50% and 100% is much more playable and enjoyable now. Starg, the developer, is also open to tweaking these lower settings if users still find it uncomfortable.
+5 Bonus for each tier is too much. There is no incentive to take smaller percentages for comfort. I believe such a table would be fairer:
50% = +0
100% = +2
150% = +4
200% = +6
250% = +8
300% = +10
