Blue Helmet At End of Single Player?

After fighting through hordes of headcrabs I got to a blue pod with spikes on it. Inside of it was a blue helmet. What do I do with it?

Sorry about that. The idea is that you pick it up and return it to your ship but there's really no indication of how/why you'd do that. There's more stuff to shoot after you pick it up though. The current mission is sort of just a proof of concept, I plan on building it out after doing a bit more work on mechanical stuff.

Other than that, how was your experience?

The game is quite fun and the mechanics are enjoyable. The only annoying thing I ran into was the fact that at certain points headcrabs would just swarm you in giant groups, forcing you to spray at the ground or fly up and toss a grenade. Beside that everything was great.
