Plus there's sprinting and flying, just because it's awesome. Getting good with these mechanics allows you to be insanely agile in a way that really isn't possible with flat fps in general. I've never played Tribes but from what I understand it is also a Halo clone with insane mobility, so it is pretty similar to Hailstorm in that regard. Technically speaking though you can tweak/disable any or all movement methods in the custom game options if you'd like, which would allow you to create a pretty faithful VR Halo experience.
Sounds neat nothing wrong with that (especially since halo neglected pc for so long.) One nerdy correction: Tribes predated Halo.
Just found it funny that Hailstorm used the exact same font as well as similar wording xD
