whats cheaper/most profitable - rolling or buying?
i just started playing & bought a rolling table and some papers but i don't know whats cheaper. rolling the joints yourself or just buying them...

- it takes 3 grams which is $45 and then $50 in total for it cause of the $5 paper.

Then just buying the joints is $30 dollars. (its also like that for the heavy and serious blunts)

idk if there is a difference between both that makes but i don't know what is better

It seems like rolling is not actually significantly cheaper.

If you want the achievements then start rolling,if your not bothered then just by them.

Rolling is cheaper, maybe.
You need 3 gramms for rolling a joint. how much cost the production of 3 gramms?
15-20$!?
with 5$ for paper you spend 20-25$ for a own rolled joint.

I'm 24 hours in and never roll. its not worth the time. I've made major profits from strictly buying the joints and blunts.

That´s not the question! ;-)

Buying them is cheaper. If each gram is valued for the amount of income it represents, buying them is cheaper. For a wack joint it takes 3g and 1 paper. Each g is worth 15 and a paper costs 5. 3*g+5=50. Joints cost $30 to buy and are going to inlfuence a customer to visit 1/3 of the attempts. So if for every 3 joints you get 1 customer it would cost 90 to "buy" a visit or 150 to roll enough joints for the same effect. Lets assume the average customer spends 200 per visit. If you only consider customers gained from free joints you can make an educated guess of which is the better route to take.

9 joints = 3 customers
3 customers = 600
rolling 9 joints = 450
buying 9 joints = 270
600 - 450 = 150
600 - 270 = 330

There is more profit to be made from buying joints than rolling them based on using them to influence customers to visit.
yeah as above, buying is def cheaper the issue is two fold rather then paying for a packet of papers you pay for individual papers so rather then spending 5 usd for a pack of 100 papers like irl you get well 1, though you can roll 2 of off it long as u dont close the interface after rolling 1st one, but it only works for end of stack so if you buy 10 you can get 1 extra for instance from this oddity (prolly bug), course all things being even you'll probably get jacked while spending so long rolling in one go :D

That combined with using way to much weed for each joint type makes it significantly cheaper to buy joints then to roll them, making the whole rolling mechanic generally useless.

Also its a 33% chance of visiting not a 1/3rd this means you can get a visit on first try or fail 10 atttempts in a row, dastardly probabilities :D, still its not neccessary to use it this way least till end game, basically each customers satisfaction bar ( the middle one) fills up as you give them joints much as selling them weed does, depending ont he customer buying 20-30 or so joints and providing them to a single new customer will max their satisfaction bar from their 1st visit, doing this first then selling them weed will also max their happyness in one go, and provide you max gain rate on the all important 3rd bar which im not entirely sure what it denotes

, but I know the higher it is the more money and larger weed purchases they make and I suspect they also visit more often on their own, but i cant be 100% sure on 3rd part, alas a lack of built in help hinders such things, I make the lions share of my profit on sales to those with thiis 3rd bar max'd, and most of the rest of profit on those near max'd.

With highest possible popularity gained by keeping your customers happy from the get go, combined with increasing the 3rd bar you can go well 12 hours in and I still have more a problem expanding your supply to meet your demand then worrying about getting in customers, it doesnt help that a demi-god invincible robber comes and robs your shop every few mins, so you cant keep any cash not in safes if you want to actually keep it. or else have to hire staff to keep them away which means you dont have any extra cash to worry about keeping as it will all go on staff till you hit high levels.

and the time and effort to make your own is stupid. buying saves time

One of the issues we got here is the dependency of strains that you've grown. The production costs per gram differ per strain and is as low as $ 4.05 for Ghost Train Haze to about $ 9.09 for Death Star (only been able to check up to Green Crack so far as I'm still leveling). This is growing without pumps and for the rolled version you'd have to incorporate the paper price as well as perhaps a write-off for the rolling tables you'd buy throughout the game which aren't cheap either. For a wacky joint this would come down to anywhere between $17.14 per pre-rolled to $32.27 per pre-rolled. And we don't have any control over which strain goes in there or not. If you're only growing Ghost Train Haze in the beginning you'd be making a marginal profit by rolling the wacky joints yourself (when not taking table investment into account).

The costs of actually rolling the larger 10 gram joint gets more interesting (between $60.48 and $110.91 each) and given the 75% chance of your high paying customers to come in ($330 to $400 dollars per sale) might just make it worth your while rolling these fat ones yourself from your own production and hand them out. Again, this does exclude taking into account the investment of rolling tables or pumps and/or the occasional needed mite spray.

the wacky joints definitely seem to be quite ♥♥♥♥♥ to roll yourself and probably only should be dealt out to those customers you know only buy a small amount (if and when they come in).
As mentioned above, the customers liking you more and getting a bigger dependency for weed and thus buying higher grammage will help you in the long haul, even when they don't come into your shop after you just handed them a wacky joint.
