I have only gotten to level 3 and I cant put this game down! Absolutely mesmerizing game graphically and the story is deep and engaging. I find myself reading every scrap of note I find in the game that slowly reveals bit by bit what going on. You learn about this mysterious Tower right along with your characters. The character development is amazing and very customizable. I would imagine the replay value is phenomenal! As a RPG player from the NES final fantasy days, this game already is up in my top 3 or 4 of all time. Cant say it enough...DEVS, awesome job! 10 out of 10 in my book!

Really really excellent game. Extremely well balanced, good variety and excellent challenge. So any ways to build your parties!

The German Gamestar gives 75 out from 100. The Main Issue is that the Game experience is too hard and not a experience for all sort of Players.

yeah, screw the filthy casuals. I hate when they lower the game score down just because they don't know how to play the game. Or they expect the game to babysit them *sigh*

Just finished my first run, played on the hardest difficulty from start to finish (epic). What a great experience; good fantasy story mixed with scifi in a post-apocalyptic setting and pacing of the story was good too. Main story was nice and compact with some unique executions you don't see very often (not wanting to spoil anything). Some questions were left unanswered, however I personally don't mind that and the game offers a good amount of lore in sidequests/collectable notes.

That being said the main meat of the game (at least for me) is the combat. The combat is very well designed and balanced (and it keeps getting balanced if/when needed) and allows for multiple party/skill combinations for each fight/boss and doesn't force you to play with one specific style. Combat happens on a seperate map from the explorable tower and there are quite a big variation of maps (and some more were patched in recently to add variety, so might be more in the future too). This can feel like immersion breaking for some players but on the other hand it expands the tactical aspect of the combat as you can and should use the map design to your advantage, while sometimes the map design is the challenge in a fight. Since the main portion of the game is spent doing combat, I value the tactical aspect more than the 100% immersion, to each their own though. Lastly the combat is played in real time with a pause or a rather unique slow-motion mode and you can change bethween these two modes at any time, even during combat. I mostly used time stop (pause).

The game expects you to read the skill descriptions (your and enemies alike) and adapt your party/skill combinations and gear accordingly, more so on hard/epic and less so on easy/normal. The loot system in the game is pretty common random loot, much like in diablo games (common/uncommon/rare) with some unique loot (wihch are always the same) as a reward from sidequest etc. The thing I really liked was that combat emphasis was on strategy and party/skill combinations and not in the gear, so you don't have to min-max gear to survive, even on the hardest difficulty. Combat always felt fair and rewarding (like dark souls). Granted I started playing during the end of patch 2, so I can't speak for how it was before that.

Liked the music a lot too, though there could be more of it, specifically bosses could have their own themes, at least some of the mayor story bosses.

Really good and dedicated dev team, one of the best if not the best I've seen. Thanks for a great game and I hope to see more from them in the future.

edit: Totally forgot to mention but the game has many references/easter eggs which I appreciate a lot - my favorite one was doctor who reference, quoting the episode with the dream lord. Another fun one was mimic which I assume to reference dark souls mimics, though mimics are everywhere and it could be something else. Plenty of little stuff to make exploration more fun anyway.

This game looks very much like Aarklash Legacy.

I just wished to do something I rarely bother to do. I wanted to thank you for this game, I had fun, really loads of fun but when it ended I actually cried and wanted to play the sequel instantly. That is not something that often happens in this jaded gamers life so from the bottom of my heart to you developers. Thank you and blessings and good fortunes on all your future endeavours.

Yes, same here. I got the game for free when you gave it away on another digital store on Christmas last year. Have 30 hours in, currently on the fourth floor, Epic difficulty. Really great and fun game! Will definitely buy on Steam when it is on sale again, so you get at least some money for it.

iIs this game anti-christian? The "homogeneous" human faction made up of "inquisitors" ,white human females, white human males, as far as the artwork shows, seem to be modeled after Catholics however at no point in history did Catholics say to purge other races. That anti-orc faction cannot be determined if it is in fact homogeneous since the artwork doesn't show if they are all white which if they aren't would not make them homogeneous since race a.k.a genetic kinship groups are a biological fact. If you don't like that fact them you need to learn Cavall Forza and Dr. Salters work on population genetics as well as persistent diseases, hormonal levels, cranial structures, el Greco, Dr. Luc Montacgnier, etc...
The way this faction is portrayed seems completely political and anti-christian which is why it has to be responded to in kind, since it makes this part of the story absurd. Also Historical homogeneous icons such as the pro-christian, European axis never said they wanted to purge other races either which is another media distortion and lie. The anti-orc faction seems like 40k imperium so if it was meant in that context then its pretty funny especially since they are not homogeneous but made up of the different races of terra. If that is the case then it is a commentary on 40k and that is hilarious as a nod to that ip. Purge the Xenos, burn the heretic etc.. Is that what you meant? I say this because so many developers are using their games to inject political brain washing ,as opposed to just making the game great with a great story, which ruins the game.
If the anti-orc faction would have said "purge the xenos" then that would have been an obvious nod to 40k but since they said "traitors" it seems like an admonishment against people who want homogeneous communities , which is their right, where they will not become a minority or suffer censorship as is happening now.

I got it on Steam in the past sale, btw.

So now I have it on GOG and Steam. Still the difficulty is a bit too high for me. But whatever, I will beat it eventually.

Bought the game. I assume it was on sale :)

It is fun and epic mode is challenging. There feels like there's very little room for learning and growing and making mistakes, as far as epic mode is concerned. But perhaps I missed some type of grinding mechanic.

It is fun. I played on console (ps4 version on ps5) . The controls are not intuitive of course. Such is rare for a rtwp tactics game. Combat is also a fair bit clunky. Enemy summons being invulnerable within a wall. Drawing spells/skills being challenging to draw and often come out drawn incorrectly somehow (especially Wall spell). Allies retargeting enemies at random (really troublesome when trying to manage aggro. One missed aggression and you lose one of your damage dealers). Enemies not adhering to tank taunts.

These faltered mechanics made Epic mode, that much harder. There was also a bug with the Ancient Technology quest, that was acknowledged but never fixed for console.

I am enjoying my time. I am used to rtwp games being buggy. But I don't think it would be right to turn a blind eye just to make a positive review. Despite these issues, the game was fun
