Hi Androidas - this is a possible item type - you get +res% to one type of element (Air) but -res% to the opposite type (Earth)

On top of All Resistance. This is to build res gear for special encounters or special floors.
Androidas Apr 18, 2018 @ 12:49pm
No- before crafting all resistances was 12 % ,no - (minus) resistances. After crafting this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I think that negative numbers like this lead to positives elsewhere. Meaning, you may get more armor or some other attribute to compensate for the negative resistance.

I personally don't like the system as I don't like to swap gear for different situations regularly. I'd prefer not having any of the negatives but I understand why it's there and the reasoning behind it.

In this case it seems like you took a penalty for nothing but it has a huge armor bonus. The balance is you get a huge bonus to one stat and a penalty to another, instead of just a small bonus to a single stat. The balance is there.

I see you people have no clue, even devs. I will explain again. I found chest armor: 14 Armor, 12 All elemental resistances, +40 health points, +2 health regeneration. NO NEGATIVE STATS !!!
Then i went to upgrade window and increased health regeneration to 2,6. After this first upgrade, suddenly resistances was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, although i didnt touch them ! If this intended for chest armor-then this system is biggest BS i ever seen , if not-then this is a bug.

Here screenshots for gloves and boots , no ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up resistances after upgrade:

So let me explain in details then:

The chest you linked - original stats were:

All Elemental Resistance 7%
Additional Resistance 12% Air -- since it is of Grand Airproof

To break down:

Fire: 7%
Water: 7%
Air: 19%
Earth: 7%

---- ITEM FORGE result: ------

You increased Fire Resistance and Water Resistance by 5%

So after upgrade the item has:

Fire: 12%
Water: 12%
Air: 19%
Earth: 7%

How it is aggregated on an item is exactly as is on the screenshot:

All Elemental Resistance 12% (in that case it applies to Fire and Water)
Additional Resistance -5% Earth (so it is 7%, exactly as it was before the upgrade)
Additional Resistance 7% Air (so it is 19% - exactly as it was before the upgrade)

As to why we have such items - the are so you can build resistance gear for certain bosses or enemy groups on hard and epic. There are also items such as:

Volcanic
Oceanic
Mountainous
Atmospheric

Where Volcanic for example gives the following stats:

T1 Fire 12% Water -8%
T2 Fire 14% Water -10%
T3 Fire 16% Water -12%
T4 Fire 18% Water -14%
T5 Fire 20% Water -16%

Please let me know if it is still unclear.

We could give all 5 elements (you get Void res later too) separately - but it would just clutter item popups and we strive for a clean and sleek look.

What can I say - hard to argue about that. What we have in our item db is as follows - what can you roll:

Adamantine Leather - the range of Armor and Resistances - base - without any modifier - are as follows:

Armor 11-14
All Resistances 5-7%

Where - those values are decreased a bit depending on the roll of additional stat (if it happens) - in that case you could have even 2.5 Health Regen (you rolled 2.0) and you could have had up to 9% Skill Power, but then you wouldn't have 14 armor max (only 13).

If you don't believe it - we can do as follows - send us your save game via Report Issue - and we give you a lot of crafting crystals - and send back your save - so you can craft a lot of the same item type (T4 Leather Chest) and see the possible base stats.

I found this tier 4 chest armor ,i can't craft yet tier 4 items.. I ONLY UPGRADED...

Explain this :

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1365031161

You said it can't be all resistances higher than 5-7%.. and here tier 3 chest armor..
Event Horizon  [developer] Apr 19, 2018 @ 4:09am
Sure --- Base resistance cannot be greater than 7%. Each item has some resistance by default + potential additional stat from prefix and suffix

Here you have

Meditative .... of Greater Resistance

Meditative for T3 gives you:

ManaRegenPerSecond 0.6 ItemAttackSpeedPercentChange -4%

of Greater Resistance for T3 gives you:

stat ElementalResistance 5% (to All resistances)

So -- without both Meditative and .. of Greater Resistance the base stat of the item would be:

Armor 11
All Elemental Resistance 6%
Health Points 30
Health Regeneration 1.5

Then i asking you again -Why my resistance (earth) went down when i upgraded fire and water resistances? There must be no negative stats (like on gloves and boots , look on screenshots i made). I expected all resistances 12 % ,+ 5% fire( 17% in all) res and +5 % (17% in all) water res. But i have oposite effect.
Event Horizon  [developer] Apr 19, 2018 @ 5:01am
But they didn't go down.

Pre-upgrade:

Fire: 7%
Water: 7%
Air: 19%
Earth: 7%

After upgrade of Fire and Water:

Fire: 12%
Water: 12%
Air: 19%
Earth: 7%

How it is shown on item tooltip:

All resistance 12%
Additional Earth resistance -5% (so 12% - 5% = 7%)
Additional Air resistance +7% (so 12% + 7% = 19%)

My FAULT that i forgot to do screenshot before upgrade, screenshot at OP- after upgrade an how upgrade ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up resistances. AGAIN before i clicked UPGRADE button all resistances WAS 12% , do you get it at all? NO NEGATIVE stats, look at tier 3 chest armor wich i crafted-THERE no negative resistances and all resistances 11%... My tier 4 chest was similar like im said ,with 12% all resistances... AGAIN-no negative resistances,no additional resistances ... just 12 % all resistances, how many times i need to exlpain?
Torias Apr 19, 2018 @ 5:19am
Ummm, if I may, it sounds like the way the summary stats are presented is very confusing...

Are you trying to say that it would have originally said:

---------------------
originally show:
All resistance 7%
Additional Air Resistence:12%

---------------------
boost Fire Resistance and Water Resistance by 5%
---------------------

finally show:
All resistance 12%
Additional Earth Resistence -5%
Additional Air Resistence 7%

---------------------

That is completely bonkers. seriously, change the way you display that to list out each one individually:
All resistance 7%
Additional Air Resistence:12%
Additional Fire Resistence:5%
Additional Water Resistence:5%

you might strive for a "clean and sleek look", but you've achieved confusing as unexpected.
