Tower of Time

Thorn Warrior is absolutely ridiculous
So, I just got Tier II Equipment and decided to start my dream setup, Thorn Kane + Aeric Summoner + Maeve DPS + Whatever, caz I hated Rakhem and Boron.

I decided to test it in Challenge. Result? Absolutely destroyed everything. It wasn't even a challenge. The stone wall that was Kate was insane, he took almost no damage, except when he was tanking 3 bosses and being nuked.

Here is the win:

Worth noting, I'm playing on Epic.

You get a artifact shield from a golem that gives you an additional 30% damage reflection. Thorns 2 + that = lulz :P

Damage reflection kinda sucks. A good shield is better.

early game, yes, and on normal/hard yes.

the sheer amount of elemental damage mobs can deal, can certainly overwhelm though.

Why would elemental ever be a problem? Kane has 100%+ on all elements.

Resistance mitigation caps at 80%; though over capping helps deal with debuffs, and getting very high armor totals requires using the enemy affix gear (beasts, undeads, ect) which bring resistance penalties. On epic things hit so hard that even with great res, and good armor; you can easily get overwhelmed. But having kane around as an offtank, healer, offdps is very much useful.

We will see, I'm confident that it will remain OP.

Mind taking a couple pics of your current II+ gear on Kane, Grandork?

I'd like to take a look on your current enchs + forges.

Awesome setup, by the way!

Or do both. I have a t4 shield with 42 armor,15 resist all and Retribution. Just for laughs I went into Impossible flagged challenges with just Kane to see how he'd fair. Brought his Heal ability and I don't think I ever needed to hit it once.

Also have Whirlwind on his weapon to make sure he can clear even faster.

Worth noting, I'm playing on Epic.

You will be level 15 and have tier 5 gear so on last battle you need fight with all 6 so prepair have a good team on epic. Im not level 15 on all but after maybe 13 try I beat it.

Do thorns stack on multiple pieces of equipment? On floor 7 and it's kind of hard to tell. It's still quite good though, was a huge jump in power in the early game.

yes, thorns and reflect both stack from multipile souces of each. you can have thorns on your pants and your ring. you can have reflect from skills (kanes taunt booster) and from shield

Thanks, really appreciated!

I'll go after that sweet shield + legs upgrades since I've build my Kane somewhat similar to yours.

Playing on Hard and so far I've beaten every fight and every challenge up to the Tower Guardians without issues. Therefore I'm considering to try Epic =)

it's not broken...it has it's moments early game and adds some reliable dps to your tank, but it doesn't scale into late game very well as mob HP levels get so crazy and your measly 40-60 pure damage per second isn't going to do a whole lot.
