Floor 1 - Magic Barrier

Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious, but I'm unable to lower the magic barrier at the staircase down to the next floor.

I've cleared the entire level except for the optional boss in the first secret room and the glowing mausoleum -- this includes the Risen Dead (statues) quest, so the magic source has the beams connecting to it.

The game let me complete the statues quest after talking to a single Sister statue, so I'm worried that I may not have tripped a flag or something, and that the game doesn't recognize that the magic source has been dealt with. (I've since spoken to the second Sister, fyi. So all the magic beams are present.)

Is there something I've missed, or have I hit a gamebreaking bug?

have you picked up the staff from the shrine near the magic source?

you turned in the sister quest to devron?
you need to activate the bridge and kill the air elemental to get the knowledge to open the barrier.

Devron is no longer interactive. I've received the 2 relic chests from Avatar for completing his quest, and I actually killed the Air Elemental and took the staff from the Shrine of the Ancient Gods before I fought the Orc Shaman boss.

I'm willing to accept that I overlooked something, but I'm running out of things to click on. :)

well, devron did have a bug associated him pre the hot fix patch; if your save was from before this it might have slipped past the patch. you should join the discord server and ask to have your save game repaired, or roll back to before interacting with devron, or start over
