RPGLite unlock is silly
I've been watching this game a while and was going to pick it up because of the RPGLite mode which offers WAY more flexibility.

I am watching the youtube let's play and you have to complete the entire 1st level to the end boss and then do it all over again in RPGLite mode anyways? This design decision makes no sense. Why not just let RPGLIte mode be unlocked right from the start? Puts me off picking this up as having to repeat content makes no sense.

This mode IS for those who want to repeat content without original restrictions AFTER playing it how it was originally done. It also skips some original content, including a part of starting level.

You will ruin meant experience by playing RPGLite right from the start - that is why it is locked and makes sense. Whether you actually want this or not - is a very different question.

Not sure why you would want to go RPGLite as this game has an awesome story so far. Wont you miss all that in RPGlite?

My understanding is the story doesn't change you simply get to choose any character to take into the dungeon, which is 100% better IMHO. If the story 'disappears' then yes that would suck. Maybe someone in the know or the developer can comment on how this actually works?

The story doesn`t change, but
  • Part of beginning is skipped, that includes some story and unique loot
  • At least 2 more events are skipped, maybe more
  • All "blockers" on levels can be "unlocked" at wish, so you don`t need to follow your quests -- if you haven`t played it in normal mode, you will not know if you are actually doing some quest or just skipping it
  • A couple of story moments won`t make any sense with different party
  • fifth level is kinda spoiled iirc (but i may very well be wrong)
  • First levels were designed for specific characters, gear and skills -- certain different party combinations make it trivial to play

In normal mode 6 out of 7 champions are available by the time you start 4th level (not counting tutorial one).
