How to finish the quest "Mysterious key"

Its a side quest on floor 4 and I followed it til the part "Loraine was found dead..." appears in the quest log. But I can't find anything to finish it now.

I'm also missing an enchant scroll on the same floor. Are there any well hidden ones?

I think it may be a bug, there is a note on the floor and I read in another post that after you get the gun and read the note, its supposed to end the quest
but I'm in the same boat as you. The quest gets stuck

We have received a report with the issue and yes, it seems like sometimes the door cannot be opened with a key. We will fix it in the next patch (estimated for Friday). Sorry for the trouble - you can continue with the progress and then come back later to complete this quest.

The issue (at least for me) isn't the door though. I already opened the door, activivated the lever, found the teleporter to the key and collected the note and the pistol.

For the scroll tough, there isn't one related to weakening the shade with the beams, is there? I searched the whole level thrice now and can't find the damn thing anywhere.

completed everything but the quest just wont complete

On first playthrough I finished the quest but on my second playthrough I was already at the end of the level with just this quest not finished... then I discovered that I missed a readable scroll on the floor in the area behind the locked doors (near the lever).
It might be worth checking, you should have 6 updates in the quest log.

This bug occurs when you pulled the pulley to bring the key to you and before picking it up - you go to the city - upon the return the key sometimes was moved to unaccessible place.

We will fix this in tomorrows patch.

Hello devs,

seems there is still a bug in this quest; I´m one of those people where the quest is still marked as active though I found lorraines pistol AND the note on the floor. I believe the problem occurs if you pick those up in the wrong order. At first I took the pistol, then I found the note on the floor.
Maybe the game wants it the other way round? Is there any way to fix this or to correct my savegame? I´d like to have the floor 100 % complete. Thanks in advance for any reply!

Hello Billthepill - did you pick two notes, one from cave in the water area, second from the cave in fire area? If yes, then please send us report issue and we need to investigate deeper what has happened there. Ofc we will fix it so 100% complete is possible.

thanks for your quick help! Indeed I overlooked the first note in the water area. Mission accomplished. As always - the biggest problem sits in front of the monitor. No bug - just
my stupidity.

Where's the 2nd note in the Water Area? Before I got the key, I found a note near a lever, which disappeared, but the "Mysterious Key" quest never updated. Got the pistol, & the 1st note. Is this becuase I did things out of order?

Look for second note behind the door you open with that key.

Hello Blonde Wench - the 2nd note is in the Fire Cave (the one on the other side of map to Water Cave) - so basically there are two caves, each with a single note.

Thanks. I got that one (with the pistol). I finally found it in the Water Sector Expedition Camp. It was right in front of the Broken Construct. Don't know how I missed it. I'm very happy to finally get 100% on that floor.
