Item Forge

I must be stupid but for some reason cannot figure out how to use item forge. I check the item forge button and then it shows me upgrade options and cystal counts. But.. nothing happens when I allocate the crystals. It just shows 1x and a hammer AND stays this way even upon reloading but nothing gets upgraded..
Even if I can forge the item, is there a way to backtrack??

Just checked and it still works fine for.

Crafted a greeen 1-h sword.

Before:

Put it in the forge, highlighted base damage and clicked below on the "upgrade" button.

The base damage went up as advertised.

Thanks for the input. I'm sorry being a little dense. Is this using the literal forges. THe forge was introduced on the first floor but then I got the dwarf on floor 2 and I thought items could be upgraded just by selecting the appropriate crystals using the item forge 'button'. Honestly don't get it... would appreciate any additional tutelage :)

There are forges in tower. You can use each of them once to upgrade items "colors", ie from green to blue and from blue to purple. In case you`ve missed this: the main difference of those upgraded item is that each upgrade increases "forge slots" on item, up to 5 slots.

Now, there is an option of item forge in inventory. That one is to "fill" those forge slots i`ve mentioned. By doing this, you increase chosen stats of items. Select this option, move some item to the right pane, select some stat from the list below and upgrade it.

Hope that clarifies both forge mechanics for you.

Yes you can upgrade them using the Item Forge button. You have to be in town to do it. Then when you click it the right side becomes the forge interface.

Drag the item you want to upgrade into the slot and the properties you can upgrade will list below. Click on the property you want to upgrade in the list, then click the Upgrade button that shows what the cost will be.
