I just did that fight so it's fresh in my memory so maybe I can help, the one to the bottom right not the middle one, the game warns you you should come back later so I'm not doing it yet.
It took me 3 tries to beat him.
Focus all attacks on the boss, keep Maeve in the back shooting fire arrows.(I use explosive)
Time your heals right with the tank.
When the big purple aoe circle appears under the tank run away.
When the red circle appears under Maeve run away.
Always make sure Maeve doesn't have aggro unless it's the life leech nothing you can do, save your heal for when she gets hit by it.
When the final set of enemies spawn kill 1 or 2 of them and then , instead of attacking the rest block them with a wall and focus on the boss, the fight will end when he dies.
You have to get creative sometimes and use everything at your disposal but it's not hard once it clicks.
At least so far, I just reached the end of floor 1.
Perhaps you are right and easy should be renamed to normal just so that the amount of those questions gets lower. People who play harder difficulties wouldn`t mind anyways. And the amount of topics about that same situation ("only 2 paths I can travel are blocked by elite enemies") is ridiculous imo - as well the inability to do some reading/searching.
You can jump/move behind a wall to break line of sight with one champion. This way the enemy is not doing anything else aside from leaching the other champion.
Thanks, that was the important hint: I always tried changing difficulty while I was in a fight already.
Thanks for the hints. I fact I only tried this fight once and left it for later then. Went on to the left side where you have to face another elite enemy. I could fight it more or less with lots of running away and hiding, trying to recover mana in order to heal or gain special attacks. This worked until it reached 50% of health and then changed its behaviour. I then faced intensified attacks and it additionally spawned 2 more enemies. I tried to fight them too, but due to life drain from all 3 of them could only hide again. Then the elite guy spawned another 2 enemies and 5 of them were leeching life. I constantly ran out of mana and ultimately out of life as well since there was no place to hide anymore from all those enemies. Attacks also were too weak in order to bring one or two enemies down before the next ones were summoned. And during all of this, the elite guy was healing from my stolen health. No way to do this.
Right, I already expected some boaster to post something like this. Congratulations, you're it.
Posts like this one are exactly the reason why devs keep making games harder and harder. "Too easy", "did it in one hour", "no challenge - money back"... whatever.
Games should be for entertainment. If you have to read guides and search the net in order to comprehend the tactics and strategies you're supposed to work out yourself as part of the game, then something's wrong with the game - at least on normal difficulty. If you're just a kid and need to prove to yourself what a great hero you are, this should be reserved for the hard and epic difficulties which you're free to pick. Hell, you can even make a video and post it on YouTube to show how you beat the game in 1 hour on epic difficulty. And how you just needed 12 months of practice and several dozen playthroughs in order to get there.
Sorry, I simply don't have the time for that. Believe me, once you have a 40-50 hours job and a family, that's challenge enough. There won't always be the possibility to play 8 hours a day.
I wanna see you do that with 7 enemies and life leech beams all through the level, especially when you have no mana to cast a wall or jump-attack.
Btw i also can`t see how time is an issue. I know people who enjoy 2 hours of gaming a day for months in the same game. Why are you in a hurry to complete it?
So you`ve encountered first "boss" battle, failed it once and you "can`t beat them, no matter what". Right. That is not "normal".
Well, sorry i`m not into videos and youtube. But as i`ve already said you can actually use search to see some advices i posted in previous topics about the same situation. This battle (right one) is not hard just with basic understanding of game mechanics (which it tries to teach you) and you are explicitly told ingame that the other battle shouldn`t be tried atm.
Starting over I guess.
Game is quite fun, just a very strange choice to be so reliant on randomness (crafting and drops), without allowing grinding for resources.
Edit: Just noticed I can drop the difficulty mid-game! That's a wonderful feature and I appreciate it. Helps me get past the tougher encounters.
I'm a disabled gamer, so games with a lot of twitchy micro-management are... very difficult for me. I just want to say I appreciate being able to play a game like this due to the slow-down combat option AND the difficulty slider. Cheers to the devs for making accessibility a platform in their game!
@Topic: I also feel the difficulty curve of this game is a bit broken. The beginning is quite hard. You don't have many options and maybe even bad gear. I remember I struggled with the first boss more than with any encounter later in the game. Saving mana for the later boss stage and of course breaking live leech whenever possible did the trick.
I'm now in Level 4 and quite bored with normal difficulty (that's why I've landed here). I did not upgrade my heros since Level 2 I think, not to mention the tons of crafting and enhancement I never looked at. It should be come more challenging and demand more strategical planing once more options are available, with out me tinkering with the difficulty slider. I'ld expect "Normal" to be a aligned experience. :/
Edit: Okay, now I've ended up in "Epic" difficulty. Not because I'm a h/c gamer or I'm that totally awesome, but because my party tends to roflstomp everything on lower difficulties. The game's difficulty curve is really the opposite of what it should be.
I've also finished the game on Epic difficulty. I usually play on hard mode but rarely on Nightmare on the first playthrough, but the game felt like faceroll after a while. On Epic difficulty later on enemies will have extremely high resistance or armor so you will need to specialize. But even on this difficulty the combat really felt like a chore and prolonged the game too much. Shame really, the initial fights seemed promising and it reminded of Aarklash Legacy style of combat which I really liked. But unlike AL it felt shallow and samey.
At a quick glance it sounds like you might be playing too defensive. Maybe try to blow up the bad guys faster ./shrug
it's literally placed before you have ANY agency you kill 3,5 skeletons didn't have any levels didn't have any cash you can do nothing and there's no skill in this autobattler it's not quake 3 not silent storm not heroes
just a giant dumb boring bullet sponge that takes 30 minutes to kill and you can do literally nothing about because it's the beginning of the game and there's nowhere else to go and nothing to do no mobs to farm for xp
you have no control to have any skill just dudes playing with themselves agains boring damage sponge that is just stronger
