I was looking forward to this game thinking it was a side scrolling run and gun like contra. It sort of is, but I wasn't really expecting the free aiming. I tried with gamepad first, and it feels really off. Probably could be remedied by a line targeting reticle instead of controlling a virtual mouse. In any case, the gameplay is fast and fun, holy crap the music is fantastic, it almost sounds like Follin in some instances, and the art is crisp, vibrant, and detailed. Looking forward to what's next. Still ...
