True Ending....
Is it just me or was the true ending.....sad? I just felt like the MC and Leanna just never got back together, it just gave me the vibes as if they were just friends and haven't seen each other in a long time. What do you guys think? I feel incomplete without the MC and Leanna getting back together and getting married or something, :(

See, I never questioned the protagonist and Leanna being together in the True End. He specifically says to the Elementals that he's going back to Terra because he "has someone waiting for him" so he's staying in Terra for Leanna. And his internal monologue when he sees her at the end is very much "admiring my girlfriend after she's been away" to me, not "old friend visiting." I just read it as she has missions she goes out on and he hasn't graduated yet so she's away a fair bit but they're still dating. Once our boy's got his degree I can see one Mage Knight Class S working with a partner. Also that last image...I don't embrace my friends like that. That is the moment either just before or just after a kiss.
Personally I don't need to see all the way to marriage to leave off with a good feeling for a couple. While Crystalline wraps up it's story outside the romance better than ACE they both end with what I feel is a good place to end a love story; looking toward the future.

I think there's a lot more going on then was being told. Definitely a lot being left up to interpretation.

As for them getting back together it might have to do with something with their jobs. While im unsure what the current line of thought is. The school could be a military chain of command meaning low ranks cannot be fraternizing with officers or the school where students cannot be fraternizing with teachers. And being that Leanna is top dog, either would be heavily frowned upon if not out right breaching the rules.

If neither is the case then again its the jobs. Leanna is an S class Mage knight meaning they hardly ever stay in one location for very long while the Mc is a student probably if ever gets to see outside the dusty walls of the school itself.

Yeah i bet its just job related or else he would not have rushed to see her if they where just friends but who knows.

Yeah, I agree. Though, I think there's a little too much being left up to interpretation, personally. I think the true end would've benefitted greatly from an epilogue. Not even necessarily a long one, just a few lines detailing what the MC-Leanna situation actually is after you abandoned your life on Earth pretty much solely to be with her. Even something as simple as a few lines in the MC's thoughts talking about how things are with her would be nice.

I mean, if you got the True End at all you're probably most concerned with the Leanna-MC relationship of all the things you could be concerned with. But as it stands, we know more about Kara and Zack's relationship in the true end than we know about Leanna and the MC's, when the true end is supposed to be the culmination of the Leanna romance arc.

I wouldn't say the ending we have now is bad, just... Not as good as I was hoping considering what led to it.

Exactly! I couldn't care less about Zack and Kara's relationship and I'm sorry if that sounds rude but I just didn't care about them being a couple or whatever. However, they got a better romantic conclusion, starting a family and all, than what the MC and Leanna got. I wanted to see the aftermath and a nice romantic moment at the end about our relationship with Leanna. But yeah like some have said, it's like they left too much up to interpretation.

On another note, Amy's individual ending was nice. Maybe it's because I started seeing her as a little sister to the MC throughout the game but I felt very proud when I learned she had become a professor. But come on Amy, less schoolwork for me! We used to travel together lol.

bit late on this discussion, but maybe her father want the main character to atleast be a mage, now that he cant use magic anymore, it could be why he is at the academy when he could just be with leanna the whole time, maybe trying to get atleast wind magic back to be able to spar with her and help her in fights?

if they were friends, she wouldent come to the academy and wait for him, they are still together.

-Also late to the discussion-
The ending would pretty much suck if you imagne there not together, since he gave up every single thing for her.

i found the sailor line pretty good tho, however i would've like to see another scene were the are together with each other, or maybe a date or just a walk in a park, or leanne's home in illumia. just to give is bit more.

Very perceptive! This is indeed one of the reasons. :steamhappy:

I totally didn't even pick up on that, I thought the MC was studying magic again so that they could pass the mage-knight exam and accompany Leanna on missions, I didn't even consider it would be something her father was pushing for.

Would've been nice to have the reasons hinted at a little more strongly in the true end.

i am pretty sure they are back together cuz leeana looked excited when we came back and then there was other signals too..

Don't forget that there is a "Two Months Later" placeholder. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that is used to cement the MC-Leanna relationship, to explain why the MC doesn't see her for some time, and also to provide additional details on why the MC has returned to the mage academy as a student.

Their should be something in there where in makes metions shes informed them of their relationship and he agrees so long as he becomes a mage.
The father never seemed to acknowlegde the MC until the stupid option with the mage knight choice where no one in their right mind would be as stupid to say what is spoken

I'm sure we'll get a more in depth explanation in C2, if or when it comes. Until then, we'll just have to wait and see.

I HATE interpretation, i really do, is there going to be a sequel to follow this on? yes or no.....if yes, then i will wait until it comes out, speculation only leads to disappointment and if there will be no sequel, then tell us now, there is no point in speculation or interpretation.

Anything unofficial is not good enough for me, like all the thoeries for the Mass Effect Ending meaning, all good ideas that turned out to be utter wrong and the real ending reason was just.....disappointing.

Its just my take on it, speculation and interpretation doesn't work for me, never has.
