INIT DIRECTDRAW () ERROR
So i am using WINDOWS 10 and i cannot manage to open the game, it gets the initdirectdraw () error and crushes. has anyone had the same problem? is there a solution you found? i tried compat. mode and run as admin, but it does the same :( pity because it says on the description that it runs on WIN10...

no idea but I am having the same issue. It worked for 30 minutes, and now it won't. I've tried restarting my computer, updating steam, uninstalling and reinstalling the game ..and it still crashes seconds after opening. :/

I'm having the same issue, its supposedly a directX issue with corrupted DirectX 9.0 files being the issue [or a DirectX that isnt up to date] but I've done all the reccomended steps that are provided on the home site for the nancy drew games :s so I don't know what to do

Same error here.

These games simply just don't work for me and I have no idea what to do. I looked for hours for a solution and no one seems to have a working one for this specific error on Steam.

I don't know who these wizards in the reviews are but they need to share how they got this stuff working.

Steam really needs some Quality Assurance when it comes to older games like this or just not put them on the store at all.
