Non-windowed mode in Windows 10?
I installed this game for the first time since purchasing it as a 3-pack with AoW 1 & 2 some months ago. I'm running it on a Surface Pro 3 in Windows 10, and even though I was initially able to select a fullscreen resolution upon my first launch, the game will only run in a window. Furthermore, if I try running configuration again, "Window" is the only thing that shows up.

Is there a way to override this?

Strange why this disappears. Game settings are saved in the Registry. If you delete the following key (this is save) and run the game again it should reset all of the game settings:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Triumph Studios\Age of Wonders Shadow Magic

Thanks for the response! However, it just seems to have made matters worse. The game config still didn't list any fullscreen resolutions, and the game immediately closed on launch. I tried deleting and reinstalling, too, and the same issue persists - no option for non-windowed, and the game immediately closes after about a second.

A reinstall of the game (or even starting the game) should restore the Shadow Magic registry so that shouldn't be the problem.

Can you try the following:

Go to the installation folder and run the Age of Wonders Shadow Magic exe in Windows 7 compatability.
Disable DirectSound and Direct3D optionally (see if this work if Windows 7 compatability isn't enough)

Does this do the trick?

Running in Windows 7 compatibility seems to have fixed everything. Thanks!
