Can you be more precise please? What's the exact wording to enter. I tried entering "beatrix" as well as "aow.exe beatrix" and the game won't start. Sorry, noob here...

hmm maybe try -beatrix?

yes, last I checked it was just adding the word "beatrix" to the aow.exe prompt, and thats just it, opening the properties menu, there is no aow.exe prompt. So I was told to go to the properties inside your game menu inside your steam library to add "beatrix" to the properties menu there, but its not working. I have been okay, but wish to use the code! lol

In case you (or anyone else) is still interested:
Create a shortcut of the file "AoWCompat.exe" wherever you like
right click on the shortcut and select properties.
In this window at the field "target" just add at the end of the line the word "beatrix" wihout the ""
When you want to play with cheats working start the game from the shortcut
If you start the game from steam library cheats won't work
(checked on windows 10 64 bit game seems to work fine)

Super noob here...
What do you mean by "In this window at the field 'target'"? What's a field, in this context? Do you mean that I'm supposed to see a tab called "target" in the properties window? I've searched the entire properties window and have not seen the word target... I may have also made the shortcut incorrectly; Every time I try to make a shortcut it's not appearing where I expect.

Edit: I'm definitely sure it has to do with making the shortcut. Got any links of a site that will explain to me how to make the shortcut I need? Which file should I make the shortcut of? It seems like the file "AoWCompat.exe" doens't exist, but that's the name given to a shortcut made from "AoWCompat.exe" (again, I'm helpless)

Not sure if anyone figured this out yet; however, I was able to get it to work in Windows 10 by creating a new shortcut.

Do the following:

- Right click in a open space in computer where you want to create shortcut.
- Move mouse pointer to New > Shortcut (click to select)
- In the popup window, you should see 'Type the location of the item:'
- Type in the location of your AOW path with quotation mark followed by space and type beatrix
- Click Next
- Type in your preferred name for the shortcut. I named mines AOW - Beatrix
- Click Finish

If you want cheats, run AOW using the shortcut you created.

Note: My steam library is in the default location so I used the following:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Age of Wonders\AoW.exe" beatrix

Enjoy!
