Exception during MapViewer

I managed to run the game in compatibility mode for XP SP2 (I'm using Windows 10), but as soon as I load any map, an "Excepition during MapViewer" error message pops up. What's the solution for this?

Okay, problem solved. For all of you who has the same problem, this patch worked for me: https://github.com/int19h/aow-patch/releases/tag/v1

Anyway, thank you guys for some of my most favorite games of all time! Age of Wonders 1 turns out to be just as fun as I remembered it.

Thank you very much. I had to play non-steam version of the game because steam version was always crashing. What a shame, why most of the old games on steam work much worse than their non-steam or pirate versions...
