wow, the devs haven't fixed this in 2 years?
From what I understand the PC version has been largely abandoned and they're solely focusing on updating the mobile version.
Just what I have experianced
Make sure auto depart is turned on and just to be save, let the train autodepart from a station before you go back to the menu and quit from there.
I don't think you get as much money as you're supposed to (only got around 30k over night while my train went from Russia to Canada), but it's something.
Hi!
Yes, there is a cap on making money while offline. It will not fill your caboose each time. You will need to return to the game and then leave again for it to reset the cycle. Hope that helps to understand it a bit more.
Why put a cap when the caboose itself is already the cap?
The caboose, at most, can only hold 500k. That's the price of a single station.
Hi,
We understand the concern and confusion over the cap. We are always adjusting and designing new and improved ways for the players to earn money, including offline. We will continue to look into this and make adjustments as necessary.
thanks for pointing this out as a concern though. Definitely helps with some design improvements.
Hope you are enjoying the game!
Oh I thought the max the caboose can hold was the max you could get. I assume this hidden cap was put in place to encourage checking back in for the mobile version, but it actually does the opposite for me here. It's quite disappointing to log on for only a measly 30k or similar when the costs for stations ramp up immensely once you hit Russia.
Would love to see that changed for the future as it kinda defeats the point of having a max hold of the caboose in the first place.
In any case, thank you for taking feedback into account and working on the steam version again!
Log off the game, caboose has 80k room.
Auto-depart = on
Waypoint = not set
100 gold in caboose the next day.
I try again, thinking it might be a fluke.
Log off the game, caboose has 80k room.
Auto-depart = on
Waypoint = not set
100 gold in caboose the next day, AGAIN.
I'm all for not "cheesing" it by having people gather infinite money whilst offline, but I'd also love to not have to leave my PC on for days on end, especially early game, to make even a little bit of money.
GET THE CAP OFF OF 100 GOLD!! Seriously, I can't turn off the game and come back the next evening to find my train only having made 100g.
I want to be able to enjoy the game, and you as developer are making it extremely hard to do so. Especially since you call it a cap, but yet it's about as inconsistent as can be between one player and the next.
Can you tell us what the caps are, at least, so we know how much time can pass before the cap is reached? At least that way it's clear what we can expect from the game, instead of having to constantly feel like you're drawing the short straw.
Hi,
We are constantly looking into this bug and haven't been able to reproduce it to the exact point that it can happen 100% of the time. It does happen here and there but we are still working on the issue. Sorry for the delay and we hope you are enjoying the rest of the game.
Came here to say something about it, found you replied 3 hours ago. Nice that you guys are looking into it.
Until there is a fix, I found something that works maybe %70-80 of the time for the people who are suffering from this.
Open the settings, go to main menu then quit. This way I mostly get to fill up my caboose. Auto-depart on or off doesn't matter.
Gotta say, it doesn't work all the time but it is still better than directly closing the game. I play it at windowed mode.
Hi Buck,
We have knowledge of this issue and we are trying to reproduce it at a 100% rate (which we have yet to accomplish). Thanks for your patience along with any others who are experiencing the same thing.
0- Make sure you don't have any waypoints at map
1- Close the Auto Depart.
2- Stop at any city.
3- Click to Settings
4- Click to Main Menu
5- Click to Quick
6- Click to Yes.
This way game continues to work idle.
