Am I alone in Stutter?
This is just meant as a general question, but let me explain my issue. With v-sync on, the game runs perfectly smooth, no dips and nothing wrong. But without v-sync, even when my frames are well into the 100s it seems like the game is dipping below the 60fps line but the frame counter doesn't show it. Just generally janky when playing at fps above 60.

Is this just me? or do other people have similar problems

I am running on:
RTX 2060
2x8gb 3000mhz ram
Ryzen 5 1600 clocked at 4.0ghz
Installed on an ssd

v-sync is doing it's job. Leave it on and just enjoy the game.

These replies to your comment are utterly ignorant. They show no insight into anything. Let me explain. The game syncs it's physics and animations and frametime to 60hz/30hz intervals. Which means even with adaptive sync you're going to get microstutter when not running at the 60hz interval. Lock it to 30 or 60 (possibly 90hz) but not variable fps.

And don't expect people with any technical understanding to actually answer you in comments, you'll get "seems fine for me" "upgrade" type rubbish.

Thank you for that.

Ya I had the same issue with Dishonored 2 as well. Just leave v-sync on
Thats V-syncs job as above mentioned, V-syncs entire purpose is to fix issues like that, to S Y N C your Physics, and Frametime etc. I have a 2080 and I havent needed v-sync personally and I get fine preformance. Also I would go for a better processor in the future though, Intel is vastly more efficient enven though actual speeds might sound better on amd I would go for Intel If you have the money. sorry for the english, its not that great!

It doesn't need v-sync, it just doesn't like variable framerates. The menu even says this, it advises you to lock your framerate lower to avoid stutter. If you average just above 60, lock it to 60. If you average above 90 all the time, lock it to 90, etc.

Adaptive sync is really popular now for good reason (killing v-sync input lag) but a locked and stable framerate is still usually the way to go. Use something like RivaTuner to lock your framerate in games without the option.
