Otherwise, I don't mind Death of the Outsider. I didn't mind the contracts that make you spend more time in a single level and make you explore various routes. Also, for how little in the terms of powers Billie has, her set of abilities can be fun to play around with and admittedly I like Foresight over Dark Vision.
Favorite mission in this would the Bank Job partially because the Clockworks in that mission aren't quite as annoying to deal with or avoid compared to the ones in the base game. Also, you have the option to drop a bank vault as a means of granting an easier escape from the bank.
However, I don't like that the first rank of Agility from Dishonored 1 and 2 was made into a Bonecharm. That ability should have been granted to the player once Billie gets her eye and arm. Also don't care about how Bonecharm Crafting is tied to the twin bladed ritual sword that you get in the Bank Job mission.
What part of DH2's storytelling did you not like? For me, I kinda found it difficult to see Delilah as a real villian. I just really disliked her. Felt too much like a bratty adult rather than a threat. DH1 felt much more like a revenge story, and that I truly loved. Especially once you cross paths with Daud. It was a great feeling!
I don't mean particular plot points, though there are a few I dislike - the fact that Corvo and Emily are interchangeable really robs them of character. Delilah turn either into a statue and tosses the other into a room without being properly restrained; then both characters go on the same journey, and I would find it especially hard to believe that Corvo would run off all over the place when both Delilah and Emily are in the palace, right where he is. Putting Jessamine in the heart is creepy as hell and barely remarked on. And oddly enough, I don't think Corvo should have a voice.
In terms of storytelling, I didn't like the exposition dumps through overlong and unnecessary cutscenes between missions and EXTENSIVE monologues and dialogue, not to mention all the notes - which, granted, are optional. I don't like the fact that Corvo and Emily have the exact same outlook on everything, and when they make comments on people and their surrounding, it's usually sour, shallow, and I dislike them a little more every time they speak. Somehow, I like Billie the more she talks. Not all the time, but on most occasions.
Also Jessamine being in the heart was a Dishonored 1 thing.
Agreed, would've been better with an exclusive focus on Emily.
Jessamine was in the heart in D1? I thought it was just a Piero invention.
Yeah, looks like you're right!
i like Corvo in d2, but maybe the game should have offered a dlc exclusive for emily sidequests. imo, i hope theres another dishonored game that includes both corvo and emily, maybe to justify some multiplayer mechanic, for missions that can be "lead" by either of them, plus new characters with different combat skills, or more focused in sabotage or using tools, etc.
This was clearly meant to be a DLC of sorts. I'd give it a 7-7.2. The last mission was great, the ones before we're simply oke. I also JUST came from playing hitman 2 for the first time, so the downgrades in terms of stealth and maps were noticeable. I do wanna look up some lore.
