Indeed and at the time of Dishonored 2 he's either 62 or 63. A man with over 4 decades of conditioning, training and experience... He's still going to be extremely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dangerous and capable. It's more than feasible for him to still be in the assassin business at this age.
You said this is after dishonoured 2? i didnt realise that at all! i dont suppose one of you could quickly sum up billie and daud's characters? :P
basic tldr
Daud, hitman who killed the empress in Dishonored 1, regretted this, saved her daughter from a evil witch to redeemn himself, Corvo spared him out of respect or whatever, decided to piss off to some remote place and stop killing for coins
Billie Lurk, a student of Daud who betrayed him, was forgiven, lost an arm and eye in a heist, helped the MC of Dishonored 2 to recover the throne, now is looking to kill the Outsider with help of Daud.
ill offer an explanation as well because why not
beware relatively major story spoilers for the dlcs of dishonored 1 of course
In the first dishonored how the lore goes is Daud is the leader of the "Whalers" a group of assassins basically that benefit from his outsiders mark (how everyone gets their magical powers). He takes in kids with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lives basically and trains them up. Billie is the only (as far as I know) girl he took in and raised her and she quickly became one of his best students. This leads to her becoming his second in command. You don't get much about lurk in the main storyline of dishonored 1 but in the DLC knife of dunwall (where you play as Daud instead of corvo) she is the one accompanying you on missions and giving advice. At the end of Knife of dunwall you find out she betrayed you by working with a witch you are hunting down (Delilah copperspoon, you may recognize the name because she comes back from essentially the dead to ♥♥♥♥ you over in dishonored 2 under the name delilah kaldwin) and selling your position to the overseers which then raided the base of the whalers. Since the "good" ending is canon daud spares her and basically says "♥♥♥♥ off and get out of dunwall" she does such, presumably moving to karnaca, where she eventually looks for a side character who was an old friend and loses her eye and arm doing such. Dishonored 2 rolls around and she comes to dunwall again to warn corvo about delilah (my own speculation says daud realized delilah somehow managed to get out of the void where she had been trapped and lurk somehow figured this out as well) of course its too late and delilah takes the throne. Lurk then totes you around karnaca for all your missioning and at the end of the good ending (once again canon) she goes off to seek Daud again, her old mentor. That's where this game starts off
Thanks for this awesome summary! i got a solid idea of the characters now! im a bit anoyyed i didnt pay more attention to the story, i didnt realise there was a lot of lore. I kinda play dishonoured the same way i play doom, just focusing on the epic gameplay!
im looking foward to death of the outsider a lot more now! haha
