Report a translation problem
I had some issues with Bethesda games lately. Wolfenstein Youngblood and Rage 2 always started on both screens for example but that stopped now.
Worked for Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider!
1. Right click on the exe in the game directory.
2. Click on "Properties".
3. Click on the "compatibility" tab.
4. Check (set hook) the box next to "Run this program as administrator".
5. Click OK.
Then try to start the game via the exe and it will probably crash again.
Uncheck (remove the hook) from the compatibility tab again and click OK again.
Start the game via exe.
Not sure what happened there, but thats how it worked for me and I can only start the games (Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider) directly via the exe files in their specific directories.
If I try to start via Steam or via a desktop shortcut made by Steam, they crash again.
So I just made a shortcut for both games directly.
Right click on the exe, select "Send to" and the click on "Desktop (create shortcut).
Hope it helps!
Still wondering about your "Prey". mine starts without any issues.
... I'm so puzzled!
I'd done that 1000 times before and for some reason this time it works now... What the!? The only difference this time was I'd set it to run as administrator and then ran it via the exe in the game folder and boom it works lol
It's also working when I launch it through steam now. That's so bizarre, I've been trying to get it to work for days and now it just decides to work.
Welp! One problem sorted! I'm gonna redownload D2 and Prey and see if I can get them to work aswell.
Thanks for the help.
Edit: Your solution made both D2 and Prey work, sorted! That's a relief.
Happy to hear and you're welcome. :)
