Game Crashes when I try to go to 2nd level

Could I get some help? I'm at the dreadful whale and start the journey towards the second level and get in the carriage and everything but then all of a sudden it just "stops" after it gets about midway through the level loading up.

Probably be helpful if you posted your full system specs. Go to the top of your Steam library window, find the little HELP tab and click SYSTEM INFORMATION. Allow steam to run its thing, and copy-paste the whole thing here. That'll show what hardware might need tweaking, drivers to update / roll back, etc.

try updating your video card drivers, they're from october of last year.

Also, run a file verification on the game - probably try that first actually. Right click the game's name in the library window, click PROPERTIES, then the LOCAL FILES tab, and the VERIFY button. RESTART STEAM.

Try that first and see if it works. Then maybe update the video drivers.

I also had this problem.
The reason was an outdated Game Trainer!
Use Trainer only for the Game version v1.44.0.17 !

the OP does not mention a "trainer" in any way. In fact, I would venture to guess that less than 1% of the people playing this game even think of using one - or have found one that does work.

So problem solved. After I verified game files it redownloaded some parts. Worked immediately after which is a good sign.
