A non-lethal play through must involve not completing numerous contracts as they are often lethal-only.
So when a contract specifically states to kill someone, how does one avoid, well, killing someone?
For immersion's sake, what are we supposed to think? "Aww, they don't really mean it. That's just their bravado talking. Rendering the target unconscious for a couple of hours is good enough."
You can still finish the game without killing, but you'll have to ignore some of the contracts.
The trick is to stand on the ledge across the street from the two npcs after they've sat down on the bench. Then you toss a non-lethal Hook Mine high up on the lamp post next to them. It should hook one of them up, then quickly toss a second hook mine just underneath the first one. If you've done it right, the second hook will cause the second NPC to bump into the first NPC, knocking them both off and down to their death. For some reason, doing it this way will kill them, but won't count it as your kill.
WORKS! Genius. I managed to "kill" one at a time, but it took some tries. No change in my stats.
