What on Earth can you do in these two games for 353 and 248 hours?
The game is just really fun and replayable. You could do a playthrough where you can't be seen or kill.Thats what I did for the first 2 games. Fun and challenging. Sucks that there isn't a no kill achievement in DOTO. I did it anyway with not being seen. Very fun.
I'm at 194 and 187 hours, and some 35ish on DotO.
Plus the Dunwall Trials are extremely fun, and you can play those for like 20 minutes at a time.
Please tell me which one prior, Dishonored 1 or 2, was 2 hours long?
Was wondering the same thing... Guess you guys are lucky to find these games that much replayable.
They're great games, but to be honest, you can get all achievements, collectibles and see every special action/NPCs interaction within 35 Hrs for the first (Dlcs included) and less for the second. All of that without tryharding to get fast. I get the fun of replaying the game once in a while, but damn, 350 and 250 hours, that's a f*ck lot. I'm kinda impressed I guess.
Doubt I've seen anyone else playing this much to these if it's not to perfect a speedrun.
Games on their own tend to become boring when you know them perfectly and there's no more surprise IMO (and that can easily happen after two playthroughs for each).
Well to be honest, if you run straight to objectives, Dishonored 2 is finished in less than 2 hours without knowing the maps that much. That's missing out what the game has to offer though, but it's definitely possible for someone to play it like a linear game and only go for main objectives.
I think the average player doesn't take the time to collect stuff and do achievements or every side objective, a lot probably spent only 8-10h on Dishonored 2 and didn't bother to replay it.
I like just... Looking. Just looking around, examining the personal touches and finding nice spots to sit on a rooftop and watch the city. Karnaca is so gorgeous, the interiors and exteriors both.
Yeah, but that doesn't take 300h to play like that. I mean, I have 51 Hours on D2, all achievements are done, I've seen all endings (low/high chaos with each character), I spent so much time searching the maps that I doubt missing anything else than a few coins. In the end, speedrunning it might be fun, but beside that, the only reason to replay it would be in a long time when I think about this game and remember that I liked it.
Can't even start again with a higher difficulty because I kinda turned all the difficulty sliders up right from the first playthrough.
Don't get me wrong, I like these games (obviously I do, doing all the achievements/collectibles/endings shows it), but when there's no more surprise, I can't enjoy them that much. The replay value exists, but has its limit. That's why I'm curious how some people can spend 300+ hrs on each game without getting bored.
Though the replay value of DOTO is kinda meh. 19 Hrs in and I feel like I've done everything already. Guess it's not too bad for a standalone DLC, but I don't see myself replaying it that much. I spent a lot of time reading every note I found (I'm the kind of player who can spend hours searching the map before ending the mission, just to be sure I haven't missed anything) and still, it seems like I have nothing left to discover. Playing around with the Bank mission was kinda fun though.
I understand your point, but that is still a pretty unrealistic play style for somebody playing the title for the first time, hence why over at Howlongtobeat.com it is listed as an avg time of 12 hours.
For a completionist like me I got 50 hours out of it to get all achievements and enjoyed it immensely.
I wouldn't rely on howlongtobeat, because sometimes the avg time is total load of bullcrap.
Although, it shows and explains a lot sometimes, like people getting buttpained about Mankind Divided - if you beat it in under 10 hours, not getting whole story is your fault only.
I don't know why you get so worked up about other player getting 300 hours. Maybe with every playthrough he wants to check every nook and cranny, collect every coin, painting all while doing it non-lethal and ghost? Or maybe he just likes the game a lot?
I mean, I played Bayonetta 2 for well over 100 hours. And yet I still didn't see everything and enjoy the game whole freaking lot (but sadly had to put it away for the last year or two, because of backlog... :().
Edited, because it looked like confusing mess.
I'm confused....are u talking to me?
I'm not butthurt at all, I adore Dishonored 2.
I was using howlongtobeat to show that finishing D2 in 2 hours is not the normal way of play for most, and that most, even non completionist, would get a far lengthier run out of it.
I'm not "worked up", I'm just curious.
I'm genuinely curious about this. Don't get me wrong, it's good for them to find these many hours of enjoyement in replaying these over and over again, I don't have that luck.
