Gold, this is Indy--hello! In order to do that, have your zookeeper character go up to an exhibitt. He/she wil trigger a menu in the lower right corner, with a top button that says, "Edit Exhibit." Click on that and then click on, "Animals." If you're using a controller, like I am, press the "A" button. You then scroll through the available animals to find the one you want. The appropriate habitat will have three white stars beside it.

I'll give you some hints. Animals like llamas, alpacas and guanacos will be in the Andean habitat. Animals like the Grizzly and Sun bears go into Alpine. Tigers, chimps and elephants are happiest in Tropical. Lions, any species, rhinos, hippos will feel happiest in either the Grasslands or the Savannah.

I know this is off topic, but let's talk about food, shall we? As we both know, the big cats all eat meat--make sure there's plenty of it. Bears will eat fish. Animals like giraffes, hippos, rhinos will eat grasses. Just as an experiment, see which of the above non meateaters will eat vegetables.

I hope this helps. I've learned a lot in my first five days of owning this game, and I'm loving it to death!! Feel free to come to me with questions, and we can learn how to build our zoos together.

I'll close here and wish you luck with your zoo.

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

Here's the thing, the animals in this game don't even really care that much about their habitats.
I came to this conclusion after accidentally leaving a Javan rhinoceros in a savannah exhibit for an hour or so in Challenge mode. I still kept getting my prizes for my successful challenges, including stuff related to timed animal happiness and only after having been told to release someone into the wild I have randomly discovered that my Javan rhinoceros is completely chill in the desert environment. Just satisfy their basic needs, install some toys for them and they'd care less about their exhibits...which is kinda stupid, but that's what they do. xD
Dear Dutch Gold:

This is Indy.

Since we last spoke, I've introduced a new concept into my zoos--mini exhibits. These hold one or two animals each. Please, if you do use the mini exhibits, make sure to put the proper animal into the proper exhibit. This makes for a happy animal, and happy animals have babies with the help of breeding specialists. After they get done with your exhibits, you'll have little ones coming out your ears.

Have you played since we last spoke? I was wondering how you were getting on.

Sincerely yours always,

Indy.

You know you can open the Zoopedia, like in the previous versions of Zoo Tycoon, you can then go to the animal you want to have in your zoo and you will see their favourite biome.

Zoo Tycoon 2 made it a bit easier cause you could just select biome and the correct biome would be selected.
