There's also a low variety of large animals. Don't expect favorites like gorillas and zebras.
My point is this is from the console version, not the PC version (Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2).....BUMMER
I loved the Zoo Tycoon franchise for the PC; where we made the nclosures.
I repeat- BUMMER.
- TPS visitor mode where you can do a fragment of the actions that you were able to do in ZT2 (for example picking up the trash and interacting with a few attractions), you can also drive around in your zoo with a Magic School Bus ripoff
- customizable avatar person/zoo caretaker/whatever
- there are like a total of 4 minigames, from which 3 are an absolute joy to play at least personally I couldn't get enough of the feeding and cleaning minigames, they were just a-dorable
- soundtrack, ironically it wasn't released separately, massive bummer for that, cuz it's such a happy-go, joyful pile of tunes that I'd love to have separately...perhaps the community can rip them from the game now with this version's existence?
The soundtrack is probably the only aspect of this game in which the "reboot?" managed to outplay the older games...I don't even remember them having ANY music whatsoever, aside the title theme.
Cons:
- horrible animal variety, at least in the "base" 2013 version that I've played, like 4 sub-species of the same animal are counted as "another animal type" and cuz of this there are like 4-5 individual "actual" species of each size spectrum
- no dinosaurs, no safari management, no marine stuff, 90% of ZT2's content is absent
- menu system is kinda boring, but the atmosphere almost always distracted me from that
- all enclosures are pre-made and barely customizable, like it's a f*cking mobile game or something

It's a shame. Loved Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2 games. I love depth and variety in a tycoon game (business/management simulation type). Enjoyed making my own enclosures and such. Will watch this and check out youtube videos. Hope it's somewhat reworked and content is added to the PC version.
So it was on the 360? Dare you say???? ;-)
Indeed it was.
The "base" version was released back in 2013 both for the 360 and One.
Afaik, the One version has like 40ish more animals in it, also online functions too.
I also recall it having community events which were advertized as actual convertible charity work by Microsoft, say if the community reached the goal of the event, then Microsoft sent money to some actual places committed to animal care and such.
A slightly upgraded version called "Ultimate Animal Collection" was released last year which was then randomly ported to PC (as a Win 10 exclusive, only available in the Microsoft Store) earlier this year only to have it end up here also no longer being a Win 10 exclusive, as the requirements are mentioning Win7 as a minimum.
The 360 version was only single-player stuff with some moderately terrible framerates and occasional crashes, but considering how the game autosaves in like every fifth minute, the not-so-common crashes weren't really an issue for me.
You get most of the new stuff there. For one, they took the 100 animals that were in the 2013 release and added another 91 species on top of it, including "all the exotic animals from South America like jaguars, tapirs, and anteaters and from Australia such as kangaroos, koalas and platypuses". That is of a 2017 post though.
