I started playing the game for the first time... and...

I died at the forest from the pendant after going to the church. It feels kinda unfair to get three attacks from three blobs if I can attack only ONE time to ONE enemy... I thought a group would join me? I thought it would be very easy but yeah... I only wanted to play the game just because I've always adored the soundtrack but then yeah, it really feels a bit unfair with the fighting system in the game.

Mystic Quest is very easy, this one is a regular old school SNES RPG. If you already have problems at the start of the game, which is what this sounds like, you should look up a guide. Luckily we are not back in 1995 where the Internet mostly did not exist. Or you can start with Mystic Quest - not on steam though afaik.

Hello my friend, if you go into settings, you can turn it off the active battle system and set it to wait and then its more like a turnbased rpg, you dont have to worry about thinking and you can take your time.

Certain techs like cyclone will also hit multiple mobs if they are close enough to each other. Also stock up on potions my friend!


You can swap between active and wait anytime so once you get the hang of tech and combos you can turn it back on as well.

You should definitely turn wait on. It makes the game far less annoying to play. I always use wait for ATB games, if they offer it.

Thank you for the advice. I'm fairly new to those classic RPGs and I will consider taking your advice for it.

the combat is the reason i got hooked to chrono trigger and the story is amazing, even better than ff7. chrono trigger is a OG jrpg it can be difficult sometimes even to find where to go next and this is why we need a chrono trigger 2022 remaster

definitely play with "Wait" on until you got the hang of it... or get so OP you put beserker rings on everyone with a haste equip and just let them BOOM BOOM BOOM active lol
