Did... Did Nu go home?
So I tend to grind out the TP for 3 characters skills to max out at the hunting grounds until I get to omen then do the rest of the characters, but in the steam port it seems like you can only fight Nu 2-3 times before he stops spawning entirely and you have to exit the grounds and come back. I've checked all 4 spots repeatedly and unless I'm insanely unlucky and he's spawning at the one spot I can't reach out of the 4 every time out of the about 10 times I tried. Anyone else run into this?

I know this is a bit of a late reply but I experienced the same issue. I've tried thinking back to my younger years playing this before puberty but I am unsure if it was the same back then or not. I kinda remember staying in 1 spot where the NU could've showed up and waiting while doing homework. But it wouldn't be the first time I've remembered something wrong. I'm starting to get old. I'll be 40 in just 4 years now. Still love to revisit this game every decade or so.

I think once you kill him in every spot he spawns at, you have to reset it. My experience is that he'll spawn in one of the spots he shows up at, and if you beat him there, he won't spawn in that spot again until the area is reset. So eventually, you'll just have it to where he'll spawn in one spot, and if you beat him there, he won't spawn at all. Although the best TP grinding spot in the game is in the ocean palace right before the end, There's two rooms on each side of a larger room where you have to hit a switch in each to make a bridge appear outside in the larger room. Each of those rooms has a fight with three of those little flying gremlin things and they're each vulnerable to a different element. But you can kill all three of them with a single use of a double tech using Crono and Ayla called Falcon Strike. It kills them in one turn, and the TP isn't super amazing, but given that it only takes like 10 seconds to beat them, and you can just run out and back in to reset the fight, the time it takes to grind out a good amount of TP is not long at all. I had maxed out all the characters in my main party in about an hour doing this. It's kinda tedious, but not nearly as annoying as Nu hunting.
