If your choice is between the two I'd definitely pick the PC version as well. But then again I've never been a fan of smart phone gaming in general so I might be biased.
Android bro.
Square Enix send wrong version to sell in steam PC version. this is not for PC anyway :lunar2020confidentrooster:

The mobile version of CT is the same as the Steam version of CT. Both are the very worst versions of CT that have ever been released.

Before March 2018, the mobile version of CT was different and was a lot better than the current version of CT.

The versions of CT from best to worst are:

SNES > DS >> PS1 > pre-March 2018 mobile > post March-2018 mobile / Steam.

PC. Phone gaming is for normies lol. But PC got a good UI interms of Chrono Trigger. Probably best version of the game so far. Responsive controls and really good

I take it you played Steam recent one. And not when it was originally released. It had bad UI on PC at first yes. But now its really good looking on PC interms of Chrono Trigger.

I played CT on Steam when it released and I've played CT on Steam after various patches including the latest patch.

I didn't mention anything specifically about the UI in the game, but the UI in Steam CT is still bad after patch #5. It's just not as bad as it was when it released. And due to all the very many other issues with the Steam / post-March 2018 mobile version of CT, it's still the worst version of the game to play.

Is it possible to cross save and play this game on android, then pick up where I left off on steam?

There's a Steam Cloud save... Just right-click on the game in your library, property and under general, there's the option to save on Steam cloud or not...
